How different do you think life would be if the Internet was never invented?

Do you think the Internet is a bad thing or a good thing?

And in what ways do you think it has changed the world?

Id have to go around and knock at doors to ask if people are in to talk to them. It was actually a lot of fun.

It’s definitely made the world smaller. I do often l wonder what it would be like if our whole internet system went down

Absolute chaos.....

The end of ATM’s, mobile phones, Fab, banking(for months) that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Most likely cripple the economy for a generation, it would make the last recession look like an unauthorised overdraft.

Happy happy joy!

Quite! Life was much simpler then, and, shock horror, people managed to work, meet and socialise perfectly well in real life

I was thinking last night how much better life would be without phones/net. People would talk/communicate to each other more, the art of flirting would come back. Id much prefer it tbh

Access to information has revolutionised the world. The internet is the biggest fear of every dictator and repressive regime around the world. That's why they fight to contain it and/or twist it to their own advantage. That's why it's critical that everyone fights to defend their digital rights and defend a free and open internet against censorship, monitoring and limitation.

I’d never get to eat a meal, by the time I’d photographed it, nipped down to boots to drop the film in to be developed, gone back to pick up the photographs then put them in envelopes and posted them out to all my friends to show them I’m pretty sure the food would be spoiled

If the Internet was never invented, our high streets would have lots more shops on them and catalogue shopping would be popular again.. Yellow pages would be the first place where we would look for a tradesman and without the Internet there would be less children getting contacted by pedophiles.

If the Internet was never invented, I don't think it would be a bad thing at all.

I’d spin that....

Remote surgical procedures, the greatest doctors in the world helping those less fortunate.

The armed forces seeing loved ones while deployed.

Loosing your wallet on a night out and being able to still access cash or pay via phone.

While i agree with the shop aspect, they were to slow to engage with the younger generation and lost vital ground to start ups while failing to offer a good online experience. I think there are 2 retail giants that have nailed both physical and digital shopping - John Lewis & Sports Direct.
