I believe so. As far as I was aware it is a colloquial term for native Americans that live in the arctic circle.

May have to call for an adjudication on this ... crocodiles are from the group of archosaurs ... living relatives including crocodilians ... you could also argue that there are many modern species that relate to ancient dinosaurs but good old evolution have changed then so much

Perhaps the correct answer is we don't know as there had never been a complete study of the origin of species to give a specific and correct answer ... but I'm taking semantics

The actual people themselves use Inuit or Yupik or Aleut to define themselves depending on which group they belong too.
