Has anyone written and had their work published

I know you can go through various self publishing sites - but your work becomes a needle in a haystack

Any other routes to get a little backing through publishers?

You mean with no financial cost to yourself? It’s easy to self-publish, but costs.

Amazon is free they just take 30% of any potental sales plus you are not allowed to post anywhere else

Just seeing is anyone else has gone through an actual publisher with any success?

A lot will depend on the kind of Stuff you’ve written. You obviously need to be pitching to the right publishing houses not saying you’re not of course. It’s a lot easier if you have an agent to do it for you but nothing to stop you doing it yourself, although it is more likely to be read if it comes via an agent.

Are you sending your whole novel? Or are you sending synopsis and first chapters etc.

Check what each one asks for. They are slightly different

This advise is spot on. If you are an unpublished fiction writer having a chat with an agent would be priceless.

Usually the first five chapters, double spaced and well presented

Usually dont hear back - perhaps an agent would be the better course of action
