Good deedy programs

Who likes those TV programs where they chip in to build something fab for a needy person? Do you watch and think aww nice, or do you watch and grimace and secretly think that there were not enough police cars, guns and general mayhem?

I usually think if they were such good deedy people they wouldn't have the need to televise it.

I'm not sure about these programmes. Doing a house up for soneone like Nick Knowles does is very heart warming, especially because a loved one has arranged it in secret. However, Secret Millionaire type shows are about as patronising as you can get.
