It appears Jeremy Kyle is off the air due to the unfortunate death of a participant being filming and the show going to air.

Am surprised that this has not occurred before now.

Apparently he committed suicide after failing lie detector test so show is being taken off air whilst it's investigated.

Personally I enjoy some episodes. He does some where he reunites families and celebrates children and people who have overcome adversity.

I find it humbling and moving.

It’s been my morning viewing for the last 7 weeks whilst on sick leave - I love the family reunions & dna testing. The rest has made me feel like I’m still at work so i’ve not lost touch when I go back next week

Discussed this at work.. said exactly the same thing! I know episodes haven’t been broadcast due to various legal actions... but knowing the fragility of some of the people who go on the show you wonder if many are sent over the edge

Polygraphs are easy fooled anyway, which is why they arent admissible as evidence in court. There was a very good Penn and Teller's Bullshit on polygraphs, I recommend that people watch it.

We’re not talking master criminals here, most of the muppets on that show are the type to check in their location and status to Facebook while they burgle a house

I feel for the people who go on that program.

Being born without the intelligence to know you're being ridiculed so a smarmy hypocrite can feel power is sad.

People laughing at them and running them down are pieces of shit, in my opinion.

Committing suicide for failing a machine? That is one unfortunate individual and says everything about the type of people they have been using and abusing for years on that show. The family reunions are added to make it all palatable!

"I never did understand people basking in others missery any way,

Is it really a loss?"

It's absolutely no loss. Really cheap TV for the production company to make, creating permanent records of people potentially being humiliated, with personal details about them being revealed or alleged by others - and with them having no control to opt out of the show being aired, once they become fully informed of the impact that it may have upon them.

The use of discredited lie detectors, as damning evidence against people is inexcusable. It's a show that it's almost certain to have had major impact upon significant numbers of peoples' wellbeing and mental health. The show is no loss to society.

Always made me laugh when I worked in a care home as an activity coordinator, i’d get in around 9.30 and it was on the tv, I personally couldn’t stand all the shouting and didn’t think my residents did either, I would always ask before I turned it over and all of them that was bothered by the tv would say ‘please put something else on!’ And then the same carer would come in and say ‘Doris was watching that!’ Well Doris told me to turn it over!

What about Sophie Gradon who committed suicide after Love Island.? There wasn’t this outcry about that programme.

As all the psychologists interviewed have said, suicide is a very complex thing, and you can’t blame 1 incident for someone ending their life. There will be numerous things involved.

The JK guest had a letter from his doctor stating he was fine to go on to the show.

It’s devastating news whatever the circumstances.

it was a show about the gullible and often unstable people of society to be put in a Goldfish bowl for all to view. as the priest in Ireland recently said does it take the death of someone until something is done

Jeremy Kyle was the front man but there were many, many people involved in this show who all bear responsibility. Those most responsible in my opinion though are the viewers. If audience figures were low the show would have been taken off air years ago.

Does anyone know the play "An Inspector Calls" by J.B.Priestly ?

I suspect Instagram is going to have to come up with some answers after the death of a young woman in Malaysia following 70% of her followers voting for her to kill herself.

I think the Jeremy Kyle show was a symptom of a sickness not the cause.
