In these modern times do you think it's ok if a lady pays for the hotel for the night or should the gent be the one too ,or do you think going Dutch is the answer, interested to hear your views and stories

I think it’s whatever you agree after listening to each other.

50-50 is fair but I really don’t mind, it’s just if it’s always one way and you get the feeling someone is taking the piss

Whoever stays in the room for the rest of the night.

If both stay till morning then split 50/50.

I don't mind if I'm staying for work - otherwise I'd expect an equal split. Or maybe they pay for dinner/drinks.

If he/she/they arestaying, they pay.

If we all stay, we'll split the bill evenly.

It depends on the circumstances.

I'm meeting someone soon that is travelling around 200 miles to meet me, so I am paying for the hotel as he has the expense of travelling all that way. If it was someone local then I would want to split the cost.

So general consensus is what ever feels right between the parties ,to be honest I thought there would be more indignation as to who would be expected to pay it just goes to show how times have changed in the last 10/20 years and for the better

If im staying in it and away from home. I will pay

The same if i have asked someone.

But then again I didn’t want them to stay

I only meet guys who are able to accommodate or who offer to arrange a hotel at their expense. I never stay overnight. I usually insist on a social first too

I think it purely a matter of what arrangement you both come to based on your respecrive circumstances. I don't really see whether you a man or a woman comes into it. It's about making a fair arragment that all are comfortable with.

However, from past experiences, I no longer book the hotel and have the guy book it and then I will either pay half or all depending on the arrangement.

Done all sorts of arrangements over the years including joining people on work nights away, taking turns to pay with a regular play mate and one pays the hotel and the other buys dinner...whatever works for you both at the time

If I suggest a hotel, then I'll pay for it.

If I suggest coffee or a meal then I pay.

If he pays I always offer half. If it's refused then it's on the premise I pay next time.

If he does pay for the hotel, I will pay for food, drink whatever.
