Musing again.

How do you cope with Fab when it becomes challenging?

Does it wear you out emotionally? Or are you able to just put it to one side and not get stressed?

Discuss.

I'm not invested in it enough for that to be a worry.

The repetitive crappy messages can be annoying but that's about all

I've never found it stressful, but I do worry about how much time I spend on the forums however

I could say goodbye tomorrow if I found it a pain, but I do enjoy being on here and interacting (the majority of time) with some really interesting people.

It wears my eyes out lol.

At first it gave me sleepless nights from thinking about all the fun everyone else is having and what women are searching for in a man.

If it was becoming challenging then I would hide my profile and take a break. No I don’t find it emotionally tiring.

I agree about the shit messages. They're easy to turn off though.

For sure to the point we only look at the forums.

Guy's just don't really get the friends with benefits thing. They think that's dropping you a text when they are horny. Don't understand that we are actually looking to build a friendship with goid sex.

So it has driven us away for the time being.

It doesn’t wear me out emotionally, I’m not that thin skinned but it certainly leaves me mostly bemused, at times astounded and laughing at those void of brain cells and thus verbal diarrhoea!

The amusing people far outweigh the social hand grenades I have to say

Whenever fab just gets too overwhelming or we get frustrated with the whole thing we take a break, it really is that simple. Sometimes we just don't log on or we stop looking and trying to meet either way we tend to come back with energy and vigor.

It used to! It’s taken 3+ years to realise ‘you know I’m alright, we’re alright, if people don’t want to get to know us it’s not a problem as we don’t actually need anything more than each other, Fab is an addition to what we have, not the be all and end all’ but it’s taken a while to get to this place (can’t complain either, it’s been fun too)

YES IT DOES! Wear me out emotionally I mean, and makes me feel like an awful, pointless human being.

No i won't leave because i'm a decent human being and hsve friends I chat to before anyone suggests I leave

It doesnt wear me out no. I dont want to get involved in it sometimes, the forums that is, so I just sort of skate over the surface of it all, looking, but thats about it.

Not really. I'm not here looking for anything specific. I tend to just float around posting crap on the forums and chatting to those who catch my eye. If anything comes from it then great but if not it's no loss.

The only time I get a bit huffy is when there's a lot of negativity around and I just want to have a laugh. I do tend to be proactive then and try do my bit to get people chatting again.

Yep, it can do. But it’s just the evidence of intransigence and nitwittery that I find draining. I have a break and commune with non-twunts and then I’m good.

Sometimes I'm not here for days at a time so on the whole no. My observations are that alot of men don't read your profile and that woman are pretty mean to each other

Not at all, I think if it's affecting you emotionally then you're doing it wrong. I'm sure it's probably different as a single when you don't have a partner to fall back on, but this is supposed to be fun not make you drained. Once ov had enough I just log off and leave it until I get that itch again.

I don't think of fab in terms of being emotionally wearing but then I don't get involved with anybody on anything but a superficial level and tend to view it completely separately from "real" life.

But I try not to let it get me down

I just come here for giggles, friends and the forum with the hope of learning something from the people I interact with. I have skin like a mummified rhino, so I'm usually fine. It has got to me a bit on occasion, not for myself but more if ppl I like or care about are getting a hard time here.... If it's no fun then the best thing to do is log off and talk to a real person who actually gives a fuck and it'll totally resets your sense of reality....

Stay happy all

This has been a major issue for us as well. Single guys and couples use it as a booty call or sexting instead.

Not emotionally draining..

Though I do find it a bit concerning that in the three years I've being single I've only met one person whom I had emotional feelings for.. and it ended disastrously. A few nice Fab meets, but not as many as I'd expected, which wasn't a lot if I'm honest.

I put myself out there on dating sites and Fab.

I mean.. how hard is it to get chatting with someone local?

Fab as a whole doesn't as such, but some of the actions of others from here have done.

I try to avoid threads I've seen them post on, coz my phone has come very close to flying across the room a few times when I've seen them spout complete bollocks and I'm unable to do anything about it without ending up with a time out.

Those occasions are rare though.

Fab does not get me stressed or never worn me out emotionally. Does get "challenging" at times, but I can learn/adapt to overcome them. Once you been on here long enough you know the tell tell signs. Some things are predictable because on a repeat cycle so easier to cope with.

I’d say it does me sometimes OP

But that could be influenced by a number of external factors also contributing to my stress levels.

So at times of frustration, I calm myself by talking honestly with my gorgeous hubbie about what’s pissing me off. He usually keeps me sane (subjective to others’ thoughts).

We sometimes hide our profile and ground ourselves in real life

Hope you find your peace x

Mrs P
