How easy do you lose your temper/cool

Exeter

I work in hospitality and would like to think I’m a chilled guy but I know I don’t handle “stupid” very well, but there tends to be a lot of stupid in this line of work, I also hate repeating myself, quite often I do things my self just to save time and to save my self repeating my self,

We have people here who don’t understand English when being asked something but have amazing understanding when it’s something they want, drives me crazy ??????????

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

Very rarely occurs and never in a professional context. When I do lose it, people are shocked and run for the hills

Frustrated, fairly easily.

Actual anger takes a very very long time and only a few people have ever seen me furious.

My patience is for my children, particularly my youngest who is on the Spectrum, everybody else is made fully aware of when they are getting on my last nerve!

I’m very quick tempered unfortunately. But then i am a fire sign

In a work environment NEVER! Professional conduct at all times and conflict resolution is an advantageous qualification to have.

At home rarely, it takes someone really acidic to push my buttons. I’m pretty laid back ...

I've only lost my temper once in my life and it took a lot to get me there.

I'm usually pretty laid back.

In a professional context, never, I just can’t. And I guess that has helped me over time learn to deal with difficult people and difficult situations personally.

It takes a lot, a lot for me to lose my shit because in reality, losing control is exactly that. I’m someone who likes to be in control of the situation and that requires a calm, level headed thought process.

Apparently, I have a tone that suggests 'OK, you're pressing my buttons now'

Oh and my eyebrows are very expressive

One of my colleagues used to say 'Steve. Eyebrows. Down'

She said if someone fucked me off she could tell because my eyebrows would be above my head like a cartoon character

I don't outwardly lose my cool at work although I do get slightly more clipped and wankier in voice. I don't think I've ever got mad mad. If I do get angry it tends to be a cold anger rather than a hot one if that makes sense?

Manchester (she/her)

I've never completely lost my cool professionally, although I do sometimes go and mutter angrily at a sympathetic colleague as a safety valve (takes a lot more than stupid though. Stupid I find amusing in a professional context, although I try not to show that either).

I have an extremely slow burn fuse, which turns to clipped and sharp after awhile. My temper is fearsome but rarely unleashed.

I think I can count on one hand how many times I’ve lost my temper in my life and they’ve mostly been protecting my kids! I’m pretty laid back and prefer to talk out situations rather than get cross!

I'm normally pretty laid back and it takes a lot for me to lose my temper but have come close a few times recently which isn't like me but the bad manners of people on the tube in London which seem to be getting worse can really test your patience these days!

Takes a lot for me to lose my temper unless its to do with my kids, friends or family. Then I get fiercely protective and lose it like a firework x

In a work situation I’m patience personified- in my personal life I have a short fuse, but my anger is expressed and released quickly. The amygdala hijack hasn’t served me well in a couple of occasions though.

Hiding in the shadows

In some situations, my patience is limitless.

There are people who Ive worked with, known for years, and never heard me raise my voice, loose my cool even when I'm dodging flying chairs!

I do get frustrated, irritated but I can stay composed.

It really does take a lot to wind me up, make me angry.

It's rare, but once I do lose my shit it's best to get the hell out of my way or take cover

"Change your job. I have."

This is exactly what I'm doing. Put my notice in last week, will be taking a 60k paycut and doing something I want to do and enjoy rather than suffering at the hands of idiots. Yes the big fancy house is going, the nice cars and the luxury holidays but feeling stressed and on the brink of meltdown isn't worth it. Much rather have a fulfilling and stress free life than a showy one that gives me a heart attack.

I've not read all your replies but there is an answer my friend .

whether you take my advice is a different thing .

spend a little money and go and learn to meditate

learning will take a couple of hours

I learnt in 2 hours

then either 10 or 15 mins a day meditate

your blood pressure (if high) will drop to normal

and you will see a significant change

after 2 weeks in your temperament

you will become the most chilled out guy

trust me .

"Depends on the situation, I mean i'm all for educating, but sometimes you cannot fix stupid"

True!

As for me personally I have come across difficult people, but don't lose my temper/control. I do get frustrated at times. When it comes to anger that is only reserved for extreme scenarios such as self defence or protecting loved ones, family/friends.

It's best to try and diffuse any heated situations by being reasonable, but sometimes it just can't be avoided. Luckily "anger" moments have been rare and happiness resumes

Never lost my temper ever.

I found not losing temper makes people less likely to annoy you. Calmly telling them they are getting close to crossing a line, and that they have now crossed a line and you will beat the shit out of them, puts them off.

It takes an awful lot to make me lose my temper, but when I do it can be explosive!

Professionally I don't think I've ever really lost it, I've gotten frustrated many times but I can easily internalise that!

I'm nearly 60 and I've lost my temper: I mean blow my top Mount Vesuvius style twice in my life. The fallout for those involved was equally catastrophic...you really don't want to see me mad!

The last time was 2001...so I'm pretty easy going.
