I do and I try to shop less at supermarkets, it is good to spread around your money in different shops

Where I live if I didn't shop at my local supermarket or online then I would pretty much starve, if there was an affordable alternative then I would support it.

I would like to, but the brutality of my economic situation means I shop at the cheapest available to me. I will always look locally and price compare, on the off chance of finding a bargain.

No would they support me if I needed it I very much doubt it

At least the supermarkets are providing thousands and thousands of jobs

And they charge realistic not extortionate prices

I try to where possible.

I use a local farm shop for my fresh meat and vegetables and independent chemists, bakeries and a small local coffee shop.

It’s not always convenient to do so but when I can then I do.

For me though it’s more about avoiding national chains selling average products dominating the high street.

Which is very noble, up until the point the community shops asks for too many of those pounds and I'm forced to find cheaper elsewhere.

Wages are being scraped ever thinner over the household bills so even the pennies saved count here.

Yes I do, I have used ma local Butcher for nearly 25 years, he said that he'll be hanging up his Cleaver in the next couple of years...

There's only one Fishmonger in Derby now when there used to be half a dozen.

Aw that’s a negative attitude!

Our local shop is ran by a man named Dan, when he came to Scotland he was a delivery man for our local takeaway and everyone in our villages loved him, he’s so lovely. Now he runs his own shop and everyone goes to him, he sells so much and he’s just such a nice guy. He’s open on Christmas Day and makes wee take away meals for free for those who need them, has drinks out and you can pop in for a bit and not be lonely. He’s such a lovely man, I honestly cannot fault him. Does so much for charity as well. When I miscarried he sent us flowers, I got a massive hug last time I was in as a congratulations for being pregnant, honestly I adore him

Always support local shops, especially butchers and news agents. Always get local builders/windows fitters and plumbers in too. The big nations can lack quality, personal service and as they aren't tied to the area then reputation is less important to them.

Yes buy locally sourced british meat, go to my greengrocers for fruit and veg, and the village shop for the rest.

Cant remember the last time i went to a supermarket tbh, just dont trust the sprays they put on the fruit/veg in shops & the meat thats shipped over from eastern Europe
