Who was you're favourite character in Grange Hill?

folkestone

Mine was a toss up between Rowland Browning, because everyone at school used to round shouting out 'Rowland' like that girl he was friends with in the show, and the other character was Danny Kendall, because of his 'couldn't give a fuck' attitude reminded me of a guy in my class.

There and to the left a bit

Has to be the original and best - Tucker Jenkins - think anyone around the same age as he was supposed to be when it started lived their school life vicariously through him.

Oh and I had the biggest crush on Kathy Hargreaves back then too

Newport Pagnell

Tucker Jenkins was the "original and best" but Benny Green was cool.

Later I had a crush on Zammo's girlfriend (maybe she was Jackie Wright?).

Gripper Stebson was a great character.

Just been reading through a "Where Are They Now?" thing on a Grange Hill related site and sad that a few of them have either died or fallen on hard times and in fact very few have gone on to anything in the TV/film world beyond Grange Hill - the only notable ones being Todd Carty (Tucker Jenkins), Susan Tully (Suzanne Ross) and a couple more

Ah I forgot about Susan Tully being in it.

The one who played Claire was on Lorraine not long ago. Can’t remember what she’s doing though.

Cheshire

The girl who called Roland - Rowland I had a fatherly soft spot for her.

Alan, Tucker and Benny obviously, but Zammo seems to be a really nice bloke in real life

She (Paula Ann Bland) was promoting breast cancer awareness probably as she's sadly been diagnosed - but has apparently been running a PR company

I've never seen Brookside. Only one telly in those days so if your patents didn't watch something, neither did you.

Don't think I had a favourite as I didn't get to watch it as often as I wanted. My Mum didn't want me watching it as she thought it would be a bad influence on me
