Freddie Starr has reportedly been found dead.

Like many comedians of his era, he’d fallen out of favour.

I wonder how many of us will be looked at unfavourably by future generations?

Was he looked on unfavourably?

I don't remember much of his stuff as he he'd left the public limelight owing to ill health but as a boy I remember watching his "an audience with..." and literally crying. In his day, he was a very talented comedian.

I was reading up on him last night and I didn’t realise that he was taken to court for inappropriately putting his hand up a girls skirt back in the day (can’t remember which decade, it was all part of the jimmy saville thing) that’s why he went abroad.

I don’t really remember any of his stuff, to be totally honest I thought he passed away years ago x

Most 70s comedians are not looked on favourably nowadays. It was an era of sexist crap. But Mr Starr was old school slapstick and often very edgy in that he often looked like he might do something regrettable. But he was ok, and may he RIP.

I loved that too. Also all his appearances on the des Lyman (I think) show. You could see des was so scared of what Freddie was going to do next but also in stitches with it!

The claims were found to be false do some more research on it the false accusations really affected him.

was tainted with abuse allegations that were investigated and found to be false but i never found him that funny anyway

He had funny bones.As a kid I remember his hitler in wellies character goose stepping around the stage.
