Pet peeves

Do you have any pet peeves that you wish you didn’t have because they hamper your enjoyment?

I’m a control freak. At work I automatically take control, even if I’m not in charge. I do try take a step back but I just like things running smoothly, and my senior is lazy. I’ve spoken to her and apologised and I know fine well it’s because of my anxiety and I like routine. She says it’s fine, but occasionally makes digs at people acting ‘more senior than they should’. I do mostly check with her before I make a decision; she likes to sit in her chair all afternoon so doesn’t do much anyway. But I’m not as chill as I’d like to be

People who interrupt me when I'm eating or reading.

Or both.

"People who interrupt me when I'm eating or reading.

That’s your own personal pet peeve that you have?

People who talk while eating should have they're own circle of hell

People driving too close behind me. It only makes me drive slower

So that’s your pet peeve that you do and wish you didn’t do?

ooooor are folk just not reading the OP and are stating pet peeves that annoy them, rather than their own personal pet peeves?

I can never get settled at my own house, I’m constantly tidying and making sure everyone’s alright

At home I sometimes go over jobs my sons have done as I think they should be done a certain way. I don't tell them as I know they have done the job, so it's wrong for me to criticise, as they would be in the right to say "do it yourself then". I know I should just leave it, but can't help myself sometimes.

Is that your own personal pet peeve?

In that case, mine is the fact that sometimes I can't chill out and leave the planning of things to other people. Like if I'm planning to go out with friends, I need to arrange when we're going, when we're meeting, all of that. I always need to be in control of me and what I'm doing. Trusting someone enough to give them control over my personal things is a rare thing but a massive relief.

Hillside desolate

Sometimes when I'm listening to someone talk about something I'm not interested in, I tune out and totally lose track of what they're saying, which is quite rude really.

I find I can detach from most things far too easily, most things could pass me by and I wouldn’t even raise an eyebrow.

My pet peeve about me would be my timekeeping. It drives me demented, I just can't fucking judge time. Have 6 alarms, clock in house is 14 mins fast car clock is 8 mins fast, most of my friends tell me earlier start times and I still manage to be late.
