Trans post op, fresh start

I'm thinking of leaving (need a break) but when I invariably return, I am considering just being listed as female & adding a bit about being trans in my profile text. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Would people consider this catfishing? X

So long as it clear. Men can get quite aggressive if they feel like they've been duped.

First line or two on your bio should state that you're post-op

If you wish to identify as a woman and explain on your profile that is perfectly legitimate. Because you already explain that your post-op on your current profile, which is different to the vast majority of the TV/TS population on Fab, who still retain male genitalia. Do what you feel is right for you x

It doesn’t matter if it’s the first line or not!! As long as it’s there!! Then the men need to sort themselves out if they’ve not read it!! Any form of aggression like that there is no place for!!

I would suggest keeping yoir profile in the TS section. A lot of people don't read profiles and it would save having to have the discussion ad infinitum. Unless you put "post-op" in bold as your profile strapline, and probably every other line of your profile. I think it would save a lot of negativity towards you. It would stop you receiving attention from a lot of males who only meet CIS females, and may get upset (even if by their own lack of reading).

As stated above, it's not catfishing as the intent isn't there to dupe. My post is purely based on making things as clear as possible and you getting the most positive experience from the site.

Good luck with the surgery btw

As a trans lady you have as much right to call yourself a woman as every cis lady does! You are not catfishing, you are a woman who has fought very hard to become the woman you always knew you were

Is it just me, but the responsibility of the person sending the message to read the profile and if they like it to decide if they want to send a message or not!! It is Just to be clear and honest on the profile is all you need!!

If someone gets aggressive because they haven’t read a profile you wouldn’t want to be meeting them anyway

Fair point. The aggressive types don't usually read though, so no need to worry about them.

Just 'remind' them when a meet is planned in case their cock was covering the profile text and they didn't see it.

Surely its just a case of choosing the right profile for who you are. If your a woman your a woman. I think as long as your honest about your biological history (because that is important to many) then it's not cat fishing, it's if any thing the opposite. You are being true and accurate to who you are and the changes and life you've lived through. Wish you all the best.

I don't think you really need to mention it on your profile at all. I think you yourself are probably a good judge of character and would know who would be be ok with it anyway.

Would a lot of guys really even realise?

Your history is yours, you don't owe anyone an explanation as to how you arrived at where you are now. You don't demand a full history of other people do you?

Hope you enjoy yourself!

You are definitely the woman that you have ALWAYS been. My understanding of gender dysphoria is that you've always been a woman, just in the wrong body (sorry for any clumsy language). So don't feel pressured to be anything other than the woman you are.

While we’re all entitled to our opinions, fortunately most people have evolved past the bigotry that used to exist in this country. Sadly, as this post demonstrates, some have not

OP if you need a break you don't have to leave, you can just hide your profile and come back whenever you're ready.

I suggest you contact admin and ask them to change you profile to single lady as that is exactly what you are. It definitely isn't catfishing because you're not hiding anything or trying to be something that you're not. For avoidance of doubt I would leave in your profile the bit about being a post op trans lady as then nobody can claim you aren't being honest about your past.

As many has posted, it is OK for you to choose F for your profile as long as you make it clear that you are a post op.

But as in real life, there are people who will be supportive as well as those who are against it.

I personally, would love if you keep in the TV/TS group - it shows that you accept who you are.

I know, many will say who we really are is a woman...but born in a man's body (I do too). But is that who we really are? We are "a woman in a man's body" - that is slightly different from a cis woman.

If people like us, they will have to like us for who we really are.

Having said all those, I am totally supportive of whatever you going to choose OP. It is your profile and do what you think will make you happier and more fulfilled.

Good luck.

Hull but travel regularly

If you’re post op then you’re a woman and have lived for some time as a woman. I don’t believe anyone should go through all that and be denied or made to feel wrong for putting woman on your profile. Worth including post op trans in the text though or first message as some only wish to meet cis ladies.
