If you were looking for a job would you sit and wait for it to land in your lap or would you actively go out and look for it?

Many women do message first, however there are not many ladies here and hundreds of men. If you sit waiting then the likelihood of you getting a message is next to zero

I was saying on another thread that I almost never get messages from guys, I've never had filters on. I'm starting to feel unattractive.

Some do, most don't. It's the way the fish market is. They can browse over the fresh supply and see those who are flapping the most with the fresh looking eyes.

I used to message and eventually got tired of wasting a lot of time with what I thought were suitable appropriate messages, but found out they probably had 30 good ones out of the 150. Then they'd get a few more to add to that the next day and so on. Mine dropped down the list as new ones went to the top.

This time I made a new year resolution not to message first and see if it worked. They could see me in forums and if interested then they can message. That was a much better starting line. Those with a bit of risk in them, so far it works.

It eliminates those not interested all together without wasting a thought. It brings those who of interest as I prefer those who have a bit of get up and go gumption. Often reflective between the sheets, outside the sheets and anywhere else. An element of self confidence which is a good trait. Boxes are already being ticked before we've even conversed.
