Men v Women

Why do so many threads on here recently descending into a battle of the sexes?

I've seen it before, of course, but the threads seem more prevelant at the moment

"Oh men have a hard time"

"Yeah but women have it harder"

"Oh I feel shit about myself"

"It's a womans fault"

"No, it's a mans fault"

The 'blame game' is strong

Some of the comments are polarising and can only serve to alienate those we seek to attract or befriend / court

Surely our own experiences of the site are personal to us?

Others obviously influence the Fab journey but, to me, the 'results' the site produces say more about the individual as a user than it does about those they communicate with

It doesn't always need to amount to a gender clash

It doesn't always have to be someone elses fault

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I fear that the title may shape the thread more than the OP.

I took a significant break due the deliberate gender-clash threads. It seems a little better now.

Really?

That must have been during one of my 'missing' periods

Glad I didn't witness it

I regard you as having great amounts of patience and tolerance

If it pee'd you off, it must have gotten bad

Someday, somewhere, it will finally sink in that people are people, and people are individuals regardless of gender. I fear that may happen as the last humans fade into the shadows and the rise if the machines is complete

There and to the left a bit

Wise words as ever Bussy and something that often bemuses me on here too - unfortunately I don't think it will ever change, as it's a vicious circle of men who have the wrong attitude, approach and expectations of the site who think it's appropriate to say and do things here that they wouldn't in the real world - that in turn leads to the ladies to batten down the hatches a little further and make what are seen as unrealistic demands of men etc etc and so the circle continues.

Meanwhile there are those (men, women, couples, TV/TS's) who *do* get it, who accept they won't be for everyone, who use filters appropriately etc etc who have a great experience of the site and stand aside from all of the above and mostly let them get on with it, offering nuggets of advice from time to time that largely get ignored.

As you say too many people worry about others' experience and forget to focus on making their own the best it can possibly be.

People forget the bigger picture.. their words are about them rather than the subject in hand. Sad really. But people are strange.. too many are missing empathy and an open mind.

As saffron said it’s when people talk like that it’s more a reflection of themselves! Or people looking for attention

I like that

I was going to say 'I like that analogy', but it isn't, it is, as you say, sadly true

Retarded gender wars are everywhere not just on here.

People like to blame.

Unfortunately so.. it's like a game to work a dig into a subject that has nothing to do with their point, which then leads to a battle.

..

People have to blame someone. If they don’t then they have to take responsibility for themselves and their own actions
