So curiously... has anyone ever met up with somebody and for whatever reason, be it catfish, rudeness and/or hygiene etc not gone through with and ended the meet on the spot? . Extra points for humorous tales

As every first meet is a no guarantee of anything further I've never felt the need to leg it, I'm far too polite to do that yo a lady, Just dont take it further

We'd just be honest to the person without being rude...

We can't all be for everyone but doesn't mean you have to act impolite or nasty

I've actually turned people down for being too nice (I'd not feel it would be fun because the sarcasm ping pong just wasn't there) ...true story haha

Had 2 like that sadly

One where the wife said to me no f@@@ing way as they walked through the door, I had to get another couple to help us in a staged rescue.

The second was a sad story really, they had met us previously, we’re keen and we had unfinished business. We met early, drinks etc and shared a taxi to the club. Then the wife of the couple left us for 20 minutes twiddling our thumbs (3 of us) while she was speaking to other people. Kinda killed it right there and we ditched them in disgust.

Think sometimes on these online platforms, people can create a persona which they aren’t when you actually meet in person. It’s happened to me also several times, but like you guys mention, politeness is always the way forward. You simply cannot force chemistry. But at the same time we all have lives off here so any time set aside for a meet should be respected.

Had one ‘date’ a while back which actually turned out to be an ‘interview’ for a young lady (who turned out to be an escort) to pimp me out and take a 40% cut haha.

Yes, it was a spur of the moment thing after being cancelled on, I was feeling horny and determined not to let all the effort I'd put in go to waste, so arranged to meet a local guy.Didnt ask for a photo, got the address..

Door opens, the guy stinks of BO, and God knows what else, nearer 60 than the 38 he was claiming, then I spied the dog shit on the kitchen floor . Make my excuses about not enough time.Walk away and don't look back

I’ve walked out on a few meets in the past - mainly due to the person not looking like their photos.

I did mess up once though, about 10 years ago - I arranged to meet someone at a café for a drink. When I arrived I saw them and they looked nothing like their photos so I just kept walking and left, they looked like they had gained 5 stone since their pics were taken and that put me off. So I text saying I was unexpectedly busy and then stopped talking to them (bad I know).

Fast forward a few months later and I see them out in a bar, except it actually is the person from the photos! And they look hot as fuck and I just assumed that the other person had stolen their photos.... so then a few minutes later they approached me ask why I stood them up?! Turns out I had wrongly assumed that the larger person in the café was them.

Lesson learned.

I’ve changed my meeting style and so far (touch wood) I haven’t walked out lately.

Back in the day I tended to meet for socials first so quick cup of coffee / glass of vino and outta there like a rat up a drain pipe before things became even more awkward.

Yeah, a girl earlier this year (she's left fab now but there is at least one person who thinks it's them - I guess Chinese whispers don't carry well on fab , but hey ho).

I wasn't really over my ex but agreed to a date with this girl anyway. We met for a drink with possibilities and she was a fucking GIANTESS!!! I already knew she was tall but she turned out to be at least as tall as me but not in the elegant sexy way I'd hoped for, also short hair rather than the long in her pics, fair bit older than the pics too, she had a massive mouth like she could swallow me whole and she was all over me from the get go, way too familiar and trying to kiss me and touch my pants in the bar with absolutelt zero encouragement. So after a drink and a chat I said it's not happening for me and called an end to it and she cried, then left, then she called twenty minutes later to ask if I wanted her to come back and give me a blow job... True story....!

(declined the BJ obv.....!)

Yes.. very shortly after meeting, i made my excuses and left..

I did feel guilty a day or two later, i guess that the few weeks between first sharing pictures and actually meeting must have been really tough for her and had aged her at least 15 years..

Its gotta be one tough paper round she has..

Woman brought her kids to a meet in a hotel with attached restaurant and ball park/playroom.

She Wanted to leave them in the play area alone while we went to my room, I said no and she started to get stroppy.

Then she wanted to bring them to the room (in her words they'll watch the tv or play) while he have some fun.

I said no and she went bat shit crazy in the restaurant calling me a fake, liar and words I'd not heard before.

Quite an interesting evening all in all

I’ve never walked out on a social - but had plenty that haven’t resulted in a meet for sex! Sometimes they don’t match their pictures - but often it’s simply that the chemistry isn’t quite there on my part!

Deceit and undue emotional pressure being applied. The person was considerably different and unsuitable. Upon a polite decline of further involvement, he cried and suggested it would be no harm to continue.

He forgot to include any regard for my physical comfort, nausea, wellbeing and self-respect in his assessment.

I'd a similar experience, though luckily, I discovered the truth at the social meet first.

The lady wished to include her daughter in the meet scenario, but as she described it, "it's time she had some Sex Education, but in the safety with her Mum present!"

The daughter was 14 yrs old, but she was out in the car waiting.

I stopped that meet very quickly

I always meet socially first and I’m glad I do , I find men tend to shrink on the way must be the rain ? I’m not that tall but when they say they are 5ft 7/8 or above and are smaller than me it makes me think what else they are lying about. One social I only recognised him by the car he was driving as I asked what to look for , turns out he was using his sons pictures , when I asked did he actually thought I’d fall for that ? His reply was “ well I’ve got a big cock “
