I spotted a hottie, his profile was well written and appealed to me. Then I looked at his username and it made me cringe

Does anyone else find people's choice in username affect your perception of them?

I agree and I know Jo would if she were awake, there has been many a message deleted as the username clearly states the person is into something we definitely are not.

Yes! Far too often and for many reasons. Anything to do with being dominant or submissive, the word lad when you are almost 40, anything crude, the word slut is pretty much an instant block... The list goes on

I find it hard to believe that the username was the last thing you looked at after the pics and profile write up.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

If the profile is well written and appealing but the user name is cringeworthy i'll consider two possibilities: 1- they're crap at choosing names. 2- the profile wasn't written by them but instead for them.

Haha, I see you've changed yours again

Well as a bloke, I think most ladies tend to have imaginative names, or at least realistic ones, I've seen a few over the years which I think would put some people off messaging them, but each to their own eh?

Mine's just a play on words, and I used to be a damned good winger on both the Rugby and Football field back in the day

We also find that having an overly complicated username can make it difficult to find people, for example, after you've met in a club. Totally agree though, a cringe-worthy username is a turn off

Oh yes.

Cheeky names, a play on words make me giggle. I see the person has a sense of humour.

But anything 'vulgar' - *Fannysmasher *ClungeCrusher *SuperHungDood just make me go Urrrrgh.

Some names I've seen just leave me wondering if that's how that person actually views themselves

*no idea if these are actual names, just loose examples

This

If someone wants to choose a vulgar name and thinks it will reap benefits then good luck to them - but the number of times those same people then appear on the forums bemoaning that they can't get a meet and asking why, would suggest that, for vast the majority at least, perhaps he should care
