So many..

anaphylactic shock abroad..

going under for spinal surgery with a possibility of paralysis...

Being held up at both gunpoint and knifepoint..

Having a breakdown and not wanting to live...

Certainly teaches you the will to survive!

When I got the call my eldest son had been hit by a van and thrown fifteen feet, also about fifteen minutes before that I had been reading a local Facebook page to where I used to live and a blow by blow account what was happening, that it didn’t look good etc, I didn’t imagine for one moment it was my son.

I was living fifty miles away from him and his dad was there in minutes, even his younger brother just left the house, dropped what he was doing and just ran to be there.

I had to drive because Doughnut can’t, I have never got back to Kent so fast in my life, because of where they lived at the time we arrived pretty much the same time.

Thankfully after X-rays etc he was absolutely fine apart from retro amnesia and some bumps and bruises, he was so very very lucky, life could have changed that night.

He was at traffic lights and everything, apparently neither him or the driver was at fault (which I’m still scratching my head over as witnesses say the lights were red when he was crossing).

So yeah, that’s my scary x

I'd forgotten about being held up at knifepoint in work! It was more surreal than scary at the time.

Barton upon Humber

Many scary moments, but the funniest was when I was doing hourly patrols in my boat, about 0300 I silently climbed into my Pacific (RIB) bent down to switch the battery on and a seal that had climbed into the boat jump out at me, scared the crap out of me and pretty sure my heart missed a few beats.

London

Went caving 2 years ago, but wore a wrong pair of shoe and it's very slippery. There's a very narrow ledge, one side, a very smooth wall with nothing to grip on, and the other side, a dark chasm with sharp stalagmites.

While trying to walk along the ledge, my shoe just slipped. I was so sure that I will fall. I manage to make one step and jump of to the other side.

I was so scared and so disappointed with myself, at putting myself in danger.
