Sometimes...

If you're getting over a lustrous or someone, maybe. Love? No. Time will heal but in my experience, nothing else works.

In the middle

Nope it doesn’t work, it might distract you until you find someone else that makes you forget about the first person

No. can't disconnect that easily and wouldn't use someone else to try and make me feel better.

Can definitely help as a distraction and stop you thinking about someone quite as much....but will it help you get over heart break?...probably not unfortunately!!

It's a short term distraction. But it helps to feel desired again and that in turns can help people move on.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

I'm sure that for a small number of people this works but for the majority it doesn't. You stumble into a new relationship for the wrong reasons and that makes for shaky foundations.

There is a grieving / coping process when something ends and it varies from person to person. The main idea is it's best to start something new when you've definitively moved on and are well with yourself.

the gym and random places

Hmm I don't know. Sometimes I think if you're nearing the point of being over the person indulging can be good as it makes you feel wanted in a sense.

When you're havin sex with someone and the other person pops into your head then maybe not as only person you're torturing is yourself

I think that's the thing isn't it. The feeling of being wanted and desired. Sometimes we miss that more so than the actual person.

Manchester (he/him)

It can be a double edged sword in many ways. As others have stated, it can help as a short term distraction but trying to replace the emotional intimacy that you're missing with sex, will only lead to further hurt and heighten the feeling of loss.

You can't shorthand or circumvent the healing process sadly

Not for me it doesn't. Just makes me feel like shit. I need time to digest the loss then move on from it
