This might be just me but but how many threads (apart from the fun ones) involve justifying ones position or stating how perfect one is whether or not that is the view in the hope that it will be attractive to say what others think should be said?

Wouldn't it be refreshing if people just said what they actually thought?

I hear you but whether it is fab, mates, Facebook or just life in general people are not honest or truthful for 1 reason or another,. Weakness in mind, weakness in conscience or just born pervayers of tasty bullshit..

In truth though, don't we all tell a few porkies now and then?

I always offer an honest opinion, and back it up with balance and reasoning - don't see the point in sugar coating to try and impress it will soon be seen through.

There is a fine line between honest to the point and knowing that you are going to offend or hurt someone with 100% total truth..

Which is where balance and reasoning and a healthy dose of consideration comes in - there are ways of saying things that need to be said without offending and hurting, and in an environment such as this where you have time to pick your words carefully, it's not that difficult to do.

It's just so boring seeing rants about irrelevancies, mainly that someone has or hasn't replied etc. Then its followed by moralistic posts saying that all women are terribly treated and 'I'd never do that' in the hope that the women will flock at those posters feet. Fortunately I'm happy to point out the reality rather than try to be everyone's friend but the forum would work far better if everyone expressed their honest opinion rather than faux outrage. Here Kenneth the sermon.

Ps here's a few commas for you Autumn ,,,,,,,, ??????

I'm honest, but im not just going to rock into every single thread with my honest opinion as sometimes that's not constructive. It's sometimes better to say nothing.

Indeed, times I've backed out of threads for exactly those reasons (and that's just the past few days )

Be honest everyone though, how many times have you seen a faux outraged post and said to yourself 'he's just saying that because he thinks that's what the ladies want to hear'?

On another, very different subject, forum they are referred to as thinly veiled look at me posts.

Ps some more commas for you Autumn ,,,,,,,??????

I just look at a site such as this which hugely relies on trust and discretion and then see how much bulls.. goes on and can only shake my head.

Will always be the way though - I learned a long time ago to focus on my own use of the site and not get overly bothered by how others choose to use it - generally makes the experience much more positive

I just wonder: why do some people get so hung up on what random people on a website do or say?

Do your own thing.

Take most things with a pinch of salt.

We all get like that at times - but will it make a difference? Probably not.

Does how others act affect your personal experience of the site? Almost definitely not.

So you just accept that others act like arses in your opinion and are spoiling it for no-one but themselves and ignore it as much as you can

Snowflakes. That comment it’s everywhere like a bad rash.

There - I’m honest and have said what I think. I don’t have any interest in whether folk agree with me or not.

Do I think my comment adds anything? No I don’t. Do I think a lot of what is said on here is worth the effort? No.

You can only control what you type on here and it’s not really your place to tell others the right and wrong way. I don’t think it’s your place to judge whether others are being sincere or honest in their comments and opinions either. That’s my opinion.

There are ways of putting things though without making sweeping statements and sounding like you’re having a go

It's a forum, used in a multitude of ways. I skip past those threads that don't interest me and start threads on things that do. Whether people are interested or not will dictate if they participate.

Everyone here is capable of making the contribution they would like and by this can alter the way the forums are.
