FabSwingers.com forum: Spam profiles ruining Fab

I have had a profile on here for quite some time but recently it is starting to come clear how many fake/bot profiles are been made. Perhaps the verification process needs changing in order to make your profile even go public? So many generic ones that do not make any sense and then suddenly get deleted.

Also noticed a lot more profiles discussing drug use which for me, just seems unacceptable for a site like this. We all have our likes and dislikes but some people wanting drugs sent to an address? No thanks.

What really ruins fab for me also lately is the amount of profiles up for genuine connection and conversation, to which halfway through a intellectual chat, will delete it and block you. Either we have sophisticated bots or people are using this website for laughs and not the original intention of people having genuine fun and connections.

I feel something needs to be done by admin as this site is coming overrun now and deterring people from using it as it was intended

Relatively new here, but there seem to be far less bots and fake profiles and spamming here than on certain other sites I could mention.

And people are far friendlier and willing to talk on here.

Sometimes I block mid conversation when things go wildly pear shaped.

I assure you I'm real, and I think the proof on my profile is pretty much beyond doubt at this stage.

Report anything that you think breaks site rules. There are always going to be issues, but you're adults, suss it out.

Im not convinced. I think Fab are getting tighter on photoverification of accounts. I’ve been forced to photoverify on this and a couples account, despite having not had to verify four previous accounts (single and couples). I know others who have had to photoverify too.

OP best course of action is to report any profile you consider fake and provide reasons why you think they are so admin can take a look.

If you can spot them that easily they're not really impacting your use of the site though are they?

As for people stopping conversations and/or blocking - perhaps they weren't as invested in the conversation as much as you were, or thought they were?

The only thing that ruins fab is people's reactions to it OP.

In all the time I've been here I have seen very few fake profiles, but lots of rants from guys about how many fake profiles there may be.

This is the best site I've been on because Admin actually are active at sorting out fake profiles and abusive messages. All other sites I've been on, have had bot profiles. This one doesn't. If profiles look weird it's usually men pretending to be women. Report them.

Why is it rude?

If I don't like the way a conversation is going, it becomes overly familiar, private and personal details are demanded, it's overly sexual too soon or you're just plain fucking dull, I'll stop the message exchange.

I do wonder if people who complain about a conversation going cold are more dull than week old dishwasher and the person they're chatting to is on the phone to the Samaritans....

I've not noticed any increase in this but perhaps it relates to the type of people that you are looking for op?

Whether for potential sex or friendship, the rules are the same - you won't match with most people and no response equals no further interest.

In my area recently there was a lot of near identical single women profiles appeared within a few hours. All with a face pic that looked like it was for a pic library. All mid to late 30s. All were into pretty much everything sexually. All slim or athletic. All "just out of a relationship and looking to experiment".

Yup seems legit.

All vanished fairly quickly so I suppose admin were in the ball.

Tbh I get at least some of the rapidly disappearing female profiles.

My experience joining Fab blind was, I'll just put together something minimal. Dunno if I'll get anywhere.

In the time it took me to have that thought, my inbox was rammed. Mostly with demands and stupidity. Like, what the fuck is happening here

I'm quite surprised I didn't run.
