I'm talking around 40's onwards.

That stage in life where we all thought things would be sorted in life emotionally and financially!

Are you there? Do you look back and think "yes I've done ok" ?

Or are you stalled on the start line still and if so do you have a plan???

Gosh that's a bit deep!

No - not where I thought I'd be at all. And yet pretty happy with how things have panned out.

Absolutely nowhere near to where I expected. But life throws curveballs that sometimes change everything.

I trust I'm where I'm supposed to be right now and every day is a building block to a whole different ending.

I am happy with my single life not sure I would want a guy around all the time so it works for me to see my FWB every now an then and that way after over 6 yrs of our friendship every meet even now is just as exciting as our first ones if not better trying different things and the most important thing the trust we have with each other !!!

Not really, I didn't think I would still be single, but then I would rather that that be in a wrong relationship just for the sake of it.

Plus I am getting fed up having to support myself and everything else around both mentally and financially, sometimes you just need a little help.

Of course, its not all about money but...my pension fund is about £250,000 short ofwhat i really wanted but two divorces has had a rather depleting effect on my finances, but have i had fun?

You bet I have, and still am. John

I never imagined that my life would turn out to be so rich in experience.

Traveling the world and meeting such a wide range of people from those with everything to those with nothing. I am proud to say I treat everyone I met with respect.

I feel blessed that fate has given me such opportunities.

Me too, I have traveled quite a bit, but due to health conditions it is unlikely that I will be able to visit Patagonia. I should have gone 20 years ago when I wes a lean fit fighting machine lol

I suppose to an outsider my life could be considered a mess, especially for a 44 year old. But there are very good reasons why myself and my two amazingly beautiful, full of character bambino’s, live with my mum.

I’m happier now than when I had my own house, a relationship, no overdraft.

Life would be dull if it went to plan.

We look back on a life of ups and downs, highs and lows, times when we were dirt poor and times where we could splash out a bit. We're sorted emotionally and have been for a long time, financially I doubt we ever will be. We look back band think we've done better than we ever imagined in ways we couldn't have guessed.

We never had a plan, we're where we want to be entirely by accident

Survived a 25 yr relationship with a narcissist, have 3 great kids, amazing family and friends, a family home we love and I embark on a new career which will give me financial security when I qualify later this year - what’s not to love?

I'm now well on the way to the end of my time.

I should be mortgage free and kids free by now. But thanks to an untimely midlife divorce an then meeting a younger woman, I'm neither!

To cap it all, the sex with her stopped 6 years ago

So yes, I've got it so wrong.

Financially I’m fucked although my wants / needs are very modest and achievable. I’ve no wish to travel the world and would be a happy boy if never went through an airport or stayed in a hotel again in my life. Simple life in France is all I seek. Rustic lifestyle, cycling. Good food, local wine. Need someone to come with me of course and that’s the tricky bit.

On the plus side - I’m dating a couple of women and having the nest sex of my life.

I was completely fine, until last summer, when I got a phone call telling me I had a 5 year old child.

I’m currently married to someone else with my own child.

That call has made me feel like the sword of Damocles is hanging over me. Hate it

Hmm I m 54, thing is for me I ve always just followed where my road takes me.. To most I didnt just stall, i never started, but for me life was never about settling down, having a family, a good job, money (cant stand the stuff but accept it as a necessary evil) etc, for me it was FREEDOM. So I took that road, caring not about tomorrow, four walls etc but more wheres the next gig, the next skydive, the next excitement.. I ve made good and real bad decisions but thats life.. When I look back am I happy darned right I am.. When others look they see nothing for me to smile about, but thats because they dont see the pattern of life how they see it... Nah I didnt stall on the start, i just thought fk it, lets see what happens.. BOSH

I was sorted financially, house, cars, lots of holidays every year etc but not now, quick divorce and both me and my ex are happier for it. I'm as broke now as I was when I was 20 but feel so much better and have experienced so much since then.

Life goes in cycles and there is another upturn coming soon

Surely you know.... Men get to twelve and then they get stuck....the only thing that happens after that is the toys get gradually more expensive.

I'd like to know where the last five years have gone though.
