I used to go sea fishing with my dad and his friend in their boat off the coast of portsmouth years ago , we had a great time then but now i don't want to go anywhere near the sea since learning how dangerously toxic the sea is becoming

Being a fairly inexperienced driver I like to stay local.

Furthest I go is Makins, which I love! Always a great day fishing and has the bonus of some rather nice facilities. Being female it makes it a much more pleasant experience than having to hide behind a bush

I also sometimes go to Weston Lawns in Bulkington or if I want to stay really close to home, there is small fishery within walking distance

Having some great places to fish close to home has made me lazy

There is a lovely lake about a mile away which is free to fish so I’ll probably try that sometime. I’m also not far from a canal which I might try too as I’ve not fished from a canal side for many years

Mr J likes to carp fish. He’s off to France for boys fishing week soon!

Last year I booked us a weekend away so he could fish while I sunbathed and read my book! We both enjoyed that for two completely different reasons. Think Mr J liked the fact that I walked round with tea and food every now and again!

"When time allows.

My dad and his mate went to anglers paradise a couple of years ago and were not impressed with it. Since then they have rented a caravan in the Skegness area and visited a different fishery each day. There are many places all within a short drive of Skegness and the fishing is better than they found at angler's paradise. An added bonus is it costs a fraction of the price too.

I used to do a lot of fishing when I was a student at Aberystwyth.

I'd reccomend that area to anyone. The sea fishing is dead good and there are decent put and take fly fisheries (including the reservoirs, which are dead cheap). The salmon/sea trout fishing is good too and used to be very affordable (you used to be able to join Aberystwyth anglers as a guest for something like £40)...

I’m sure he will. I’ve just got to put up with all the fishing talk between now and then. Oh and while he’s away instead of him messaging me with cock pic with ‘thinking of you’ it’ll be a pic of a carp with the weight next to it lol

The season has just started for me here on the south coast,I only sea fish.

I lure fish for sea bass mostly .I do a little mackerel fishing over the summer and I'll target sea bream soon. They are very tasty.

My love is for sea bass fishing from shore and boat .I never use bait for the bass only lures .Biggest bass over the years was just over 10 lbs and around 85cm .

There's nothing quite like trotting a stick float down a river. Holding it back then watching it disappear as another roach takes the bait. Love fishing the Severn at Shrewsbury like that.
