My husband was the least favourite and he really knew it. His brother used to mock him for it. Was awful. Obviously you can’t help but possibly have favourites but don’t make it known...

Exactly the same thing happened with me. Especially with one of my sisters who would delight in making it known how they all thought i was odd. I agree with you they shouldn't, or at least don't make it known you are the least favourite.... Let's hope some of these jolly fabbers share the same view

"Do u have a fave kid?"

Not really but I love them both for completely different reasons if that makes sense.

Like situationally, I prefer to read with one but I prefer to do outdoor activities with the other because that's where their personalities naturally differ.

I have a favourite boy and favourite girl but that's kinda cheating as we only have two

For years I thought I was my Dad's least favourite up until I was 30 when we went to the pub with his workmates. My dad went to the loo and his workmates proceeded to tell me how much he gushes about me at work about how proud he was of me, yet to my face he never made me feel that way. I felt guilty and cried when I got home.

Funny how we think these things and how wrong we get it sometimes.

Mr.

Hiding in the shadows

I couldn't resist that.

Recent night out, went to a 'comedy night'

One of the stand ups, was pretty dire, wasn't getting many laughs

He was talking about his kids, having a favourite "We all have one, don't we?"

I replied "no, I don't like any of them"

It came out louder than I'd planned, it also got more laughs than his act.

"Do u have a fave kid?"

They're chalk and cheese, I love them for different things. One is closer to me because he still lives at home and we are very alike but I don't think I could love either less than the other even when I want to *trangle them.

My mum always used to hug me and say "you're my favourite but don't tell the others" but she said it to all of us

I aim to emulate that philosophy.

Ooooooooooo, I have three to choose from plus two step children.....ooooooooooo I can’t, I just can’t!!

My eldest and youngest are both autistic and my middle one is the most ‘lively’ out the three of them but all three of them have their own great qualities that I wouldn’t change!

My eldest isn’t a sharer at all which is quite endearing in a way, very much a sheldon of the family

My middle one like I said is the most lively..he is the one that lives by the seat of his pants and always falls on his feet, he is one of those annoying buggers

My youngest is my baby, the one I am probably closest to, he still gives me cuddles and what not and is the only one still to end his texts with I love you.

Nope, I can’t choose they are all my babies!

My father tended to be more lenient towards my sister than towards me and did not seem to expect much from her. He was always disappointed in me. I think that was more to do with his traditionalist view of sex roles (women should be housewives and mothers). I didn't get the impression he preferred one of us over the other. I don't think my mother liked either of us kids.

I get the impression that fathers usually prefer their daughters and mothers prefer their sons. What do other Fabbers think?

No we don't have a favourite kid. At various times we have liked one or the other slightly less but would step in front of a speeding train for both of them.

They're grown up now and are equal in our affections

Scotland - Aberdeen

I don't have kids, but myself and my sister are totally different as if we were unrelated, I also have two half brothers who have the same dad and their personalities are on the same par as me and my sister, total opposites,

It's funny how the most difficult children get the most attention (though adults now) and the more easy going get left alone to defend for themselves sometimes to their own detriment when they do actually need help!

I don't understand it, I'm treated as the sounding board to offload all the shit about to about the two troublesome ones, all I can say is thank fuck for my real dad to have been a sounding board for my recent legal/building problems whilst surprisingly my mum has left me to it, disappointingly I may add.

But hey, WTF do I know
