I know someone who is always nice, to everyone. It's wearing and you don't know when they're being sincere.

By all means remain courteous and civil to people but don't say for instance that you love their new haircut when you clearly don't, it devalues both the compliment and the nice ness.

Isn't it funny how different people can be. I used to avoid conflict at all costs. I've learned using my anger appropriately, calling people out, etc, and saving my best self for people who deserve it... makes me a better person all around.
