The bus journey was just so annoying as some young guy was singing his head off (couldn't sing a note) with his phone blasting out music. In the past I said something but sometimes you've just got to pick your battles.

So my question is if something/someone is annoying or being a twat do you do battle?

Irl? Absolutely. On here? Nope not really. Just steer clear. I dont really need excessive grief so it's easy for me to just ignore this part and concentrate on real life. That's where the important battles need to be fought and aint got energy to fight on both fronts x

Depends on the incident. If they were being a dick to me, I wouldn't bother.

If they were picking on someone else, I would step in (provided that person did not cause trouble in the first place).

Depends on what and with whom I’m battling. I normally bite my tongue and mutter swear words under my breath

Battle? Can you win, will you gain anything? Possibly depending on the answers to those questions....

I guess it depends on context. Mr irritating tuneless git could be seen as either harmless, but annoying or deliberately causing a disturbance. If the latter you are within your rights to politely ask him to shut the fuck up.

Not sure if that helps really

I see so much disrespect from people on public transport, not aimed at me but I really dislike it. I find it hard to walk away and if I do it doesn't sit well with me.

Annoying I can deal with.. being a twat I'll ignore unless it's leaving an ill informed, personal comment unchecked.

Very little truly angers me so tend to roll my eyes and move on.

I have walked away when I've known I couldn't win. There was a super aggressive guy once, insulting and shouting abuse to passengers and no one said a thing . It kinda hurt me that I couldn't tell him to do one.

“When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask them to stop. If they do not stop, destroy them“

Seems fitting

Believe me if I could have given the aggressive way out of order guy on the bus some of his own medicine I would have in a heartbeat.

Depends on the situation, I do let a lot of trivial annoyances go as it isn’t worth the hassle.

It depends on whether the annoyance is at my front door or not. If its just some greif on my way home or something that's going to be over very quickly then I look the other way and don't escalate the situation. If it's getting out of hand though and there's a general feeling that "something needs to be said", then I wouldn't be behind the door about telling someone to wind their neck in

These are the times I'd like to be a guy. As a woman you can be a bit more vulnerable.

This day and age is it worth it, meaning are you putting yourself in the firing line to be verbally abused, physically abused or even worse drawn a knife against you. Sometimes it’s just best to put up and say nothing unfortunately

I try not to engage with much out there in the real world. Head down and plow on or grit my teeth and bear it. Emergency type stuff I would stop to help but annoyances no.

It's not an easy choice to make,it's never wrong to challenge certain behaviours but it's best to do so with the coolest of heads on.

Staring st these guys who have no respect and seem angry at the world doesnt cut it. Their reactions are so threateningly unreasonable.

"I see so much disrespect from people on public transport, not aimed at me but I really dislike it. I find it hard to walk away and if I do it doesn't sit well with me."

There was a group of tipsy young women shouting across the train carriage and generally being very annoying. The other passengers were clearly fed up but didn't say anything.

I shouted at the women to shut up. They shouted that I was a killjoy and anyone who didn't like it should fuck off and move carriages. They did stop being so noisy though after their initial rant.

I half expected them to be abusive when they eventually got off but they weren't.
