They didn't, it was her. I was reading an interview with her where she talked about it the other day.

As she was 11 when she signed (well her parents did) she was one of the few leading cast members without a nudity clause in her contact.

She was given full autonomy over how much or little of her body and the scene we got to see, she thought it was a joke scene the writers had put in at first.

I thought quite early on that it must be a weird thing for a parent to sign their child up for, baring in mind her and Sophie Turner were 14 or 15 when the show started and for how long it was expected to run. After season one they must have been thinking "Christ, what are they gonna be asking my daughter to do on camera by the time she's 20?"

Much the same as with Natalie Portman, Emma Watson or any other child actor, watching them 'grow up' on screen can be a bit of a weird one.

Personally, I can imagine that it's quite empowering for her to take control of her body and do that on screen. It's almost like seeing her declare "I'm a woman."

In all of her interviews and performances I've found her to be very down to earth and humble, she should be proud of how she's handled herself and the person that she's become.

Yeah - the actor who played Joffrey, on the other hand, has given up acting.

Yeah, he was just doing it for a bit of fun apparently!

I read that after the first series, G.R.R Martyn sent him a gift with a card, which read; "congratulations, everybody hates you." He was overjoyed!
