is there a better winter warmer / comfort food style dinner?

Beff stew with dumplings or steak and kidney pudding come close, but you just can't beat the ofally goodness of a good haggis to stave off the winter blues

Torquay

A good curry is probably far more popular than Haggis amongst our population....That's what I call real comfort food

Love haggis tatties and neeps, but tonight I had a white pudding supper from the chippy. Was great, just right for a chilly night.

little house on the praire

My comfort food when ever id been poorly and off my food first thing i used to want was either heinz tomato soup or beans on toast. Havent had heinz soup for years now as i make all my soups but last time i had it they had changed the recipe and it was far too sweet for me

White pudding is a battered deep fried sausage shaped pudding, it's made with oats, onion spices suet. No meat in it.

That's a proper welsh dinner - used to love that when I lived on the wrong side of the bridge

The trick to really good bubble and squeak is to mash and then re-fry it a few times - that way you get crispy bits mixed all the way through it.
