But everyone I seem to message disappears off line. I mean it says there on, I message, 10 mins later it says they left 10 mins ago ????

It happens - it can take up to 15 mins for someone to show offline from when they actually went.

The key is your message will still be there when they sign in again and if they like the look of it (and invariably your profile) they can still respond to it
