Was gonna have a christening robe made from mine if I'd had a girl...3 boys and a separation later, its a crumpled mess in a black sack in the shed

I used some of the material to make a christening gown for my firstborn. My wedding dress was cream...very daring 31 years ago and people thought that meant I wasn't a virgin but I was...oh how attitudes have changed.

Never used the christening gown as my mum gave me the gown I and my four sisters were christened in. All of my kids were christened in that gown.

Left them behind when I left my husband...probably in a landfill somewhere.

when my grandma got married it was during the war and the women in the village clubbed together their clothing coupons to give her for the material. It was a beautiful dress and she used to take it out to show us. My mum couldnt wear it when she got married cause she had a belly full of arms and legs so the idea was i would, then i had a belly full of arms and legs as well

Last time I saw Kates wedding dress it was on the floor at the side of the bed

The time before that, it was up around her waist

I know, I know, romantic bastard ain't I?

Like Sassy I had a cream coloured one but I wasn't a virgin.

35 years later I still have it and I'm sure it would see me out as a shroud ... it's nylon and indestructible! ahhhh the 70's eh?

Still fits, well the lace poncho I wore over it does.

We had a roof leak so it got damaged but i don't think it would have still fit even if it hadn't. If you can still fit into it after a decade you must be doing well.
