"I am an utter baby about horror films - can't watch any of them without thinking about them late at night in bed in the dark and my imagination is actually worse than what I've seen!!! Currently hiding behind the laptop to Jaws The Revenge and even I know it's dire! " You wouldn't like Absentia then!

It made a change to watch a film not entirely given over to CGI and big budgets, the music score itself was enough to get the hair on the back of my neck tingling.

" I prefer a film to have a little substance rather than all flashy CGI anyway, I'm DL it now so I'll probably watch it tomorrow evening

" I have an ambition… to find a horror film which actually freaks me out… even if it’s just a little bit. I’ll even watch them at night, on my own… they just don’t freak me out no matter how hard I try to let them. I long to have that feeling again. " I know what you mean. Last film that got under my skin was Session 9 though perhaps not a horror. Loved Ringu and The Grudge though my sleep wasn't great after those

"One that had me gripped was called Nightwatch. Holywood remade it with Ewan McGregor but the original Danish version is much creepier " Ooh! I loved the Original of this, the humour too... did you know both versions were by the same director? I'm amazed how lacklustre his remake was

"i find books scarier than films, what you see in your minds eye and all that. one of the scariest books i have read is amityville horror, the film was very tame" Cant beat the original exorcist but what is freaky the the back story the curse of the movie is legend.

""let the right one in" is an interesting danish horror film, although not that scary. " It's a beautiful film.... though I think of it more as a love story.

The most touching moment for me was when her companion asks her not to go to the boy, she doesn't reply but puts her hand lightly/lovingly on his cheek... in that tiny moment I felt his heart break

"As a teenager I worked in a psychiatric hospital... formerly The Leicester Borough Lunatic Asylum. It's a great building opened in 1869... when they knew how to make asylums look like asylums. " We'll check that out. The one I was referring to was Denbigh Asylum, North Wales. There are links on youtube and flickr. It was also used for a week leading up to Halloween 3 or 4 years back. I went on two of the nights.

"I dont get it... the scary bit about horror films. You already know its a movie, nothing more nothing less. You already know its mean to scare you! So.... how can it possibly be scary?" Surely the same could be said for a romance or a weepy?
