Intimacy depends on the chemistry of who I am with all of those acts mentioned so far can be intimate or not for me. To feel fulfilled and get the incredible feeling that courses through your body when intimacy and passion intermingle chemistry with my partner is the difference.

Kissing seems much more intimate to me then any kind of oral, I know this sounds weird as mouths are generally on parts of the body that are intimate and aren’t seen by everyone, kissing is by far something that can be intense and passionate and you don’t really get that with oral, like a poster said above hand holding too but I kind of draw the line at that because somethings only doughnut and I do, somethings I want to keep just for us x

I think losing myself completely in the moment with another person is the most intimate act for me. When I trust them implicitly doing anything. Although I still don’t think there is any single act that I have done that I haven’t felt both intimacy and a lack of intimacy. There are others that I haven’t done that I simply cannot imagine doing without a good degree of intimacy.

This is perfectly put. Yes. That level of trust is what dictates the intimacy and how intimate I find certain acts. Going down on me doesn't necessarily demonstrate more care than other things but it does make me feel exposed. Things where I need to switch off to really enjoy it are intimate.

I agree that holding hands and kissing are very intimate, for me falling asleep whilst being held is the most intimate it can get. Usually I can't bear to be touched when I need to sleep, I need my own space. 3 or 4 times in my life have a fallen asleep in someone's arms and it was lovely. The level of trust has to be very great for me to be comfortable and relaxed enough.

I'm not sure to what extent you can measure intimacy from a physical act per se. Granted some are more intimate that others but I think the measure of intimacy has more to do with the atmosphere, intent and moment. Personally (although perfectly respected and valid) I don't get the no kissing couples. For example some would veiw kissing or oral more intimate than holding hands. But when I hold hands with my woman thats far more intimate that I would have with anyone else because we have a bond that if far more power than anything else and exclusive to us.

Also I don't see why we fear intimacy so much? I don't see why intimacy and showing some form of love for another human has to come with strings? Can we not be close and intimate with another human simply for the sake of sharing that very moment and time, nothing more?
