My mother was terrified of them after the doctor chased her round the house with one when she was 2

Regular blood donor here ... I have no problem with them ... I love watching the skin dimple then give as they slide the cannula in (cue a load of people passing out at that one)

Me . I often pass out. Ridiculous I know but I’m terrified of injections and blood tests. Can’t even watch things like that on telly without breaking into a sweat.

I wouldn't say I have a fear exactly, but I'm always super nervous whenever I have injections.

Yet getting tattoos and tattooing others is fine!

I think it's the injections I hate rather than needles.

I had a small growth on the eye lid. More unsightly than anything. Dr put me in for removal. Freeze off I thought? Nah. After signing my life away I lay on a bed with my head in a hollow. A nurse grasped my hand. Then a masked doctor appeared, needle in hand. This went in several places around my eye. Forty minutes of pure terror followed. .

I have quite a phobia of needles, and spiders. A spider with a needle would be my worst nightmare

There and to the left a bit

Needles don't bother me in the slightest, in fact I have been known to watch as they're inserted - the only place I'm not keen on them is at the Dentists as it tends to hurt a little more when they insert it, and that wibbly wobbly mouth effect just feels strange but it doesn't "bother" me as such

There are very few people who aren’t apprehensive about needles and that’s perfectly normal. Is not a ‘thing’ and doesn’t need to be categorised as some sort of condition.

I’ve taken thousands of blood samples, sited cannulas and had had a few needles stuck in me and I can tell you, I quiver at the thought of being stabbed but it’s a necessary evil so I get on with it.

I’m not a fan of needles or injections - but as I’m now at the gum clinic every few months I’ve had to get used to it!
