Why are these never as good as I think they're going to be?

What's wrong with them? The food is never top notch but love a cheap Chinese buffet.

Can food that's been cooked and then sits under heat lamps ever be as good as a freshly cooked dish? Saying that Mandarin in Northampton is actually quite good for a buffet.

I've only been to a KFC once and was violently I'll. Been to loads of Chinese buffets with no issues. I think KFC pales in comparison to any buffet.

When we go on holiday the foods usually buffet style. We find the starters and desserts are usually fresher and tastier than the main courses.

Na, don't like them, shite food that the general public usually touch too. Going off by some of the people that are on here, I don't want to have other people potentially touch the food I eat.

Obviously a restaurant is different, I'd like to think professional chefs are up holding food and hygiene standards

Depends how busy they are. If the food is constantly being filled when it's busy then it's usually pretty good.

Think today must have been a slow afternoon.

I find them very good , but I always find it better when there busy , so the food on display if emptied and re filled very regularly, never good seeing the food sat there for ages

I've been to some lovely ones but they are a waste of money for me as I can only eat around £3 worth of food.
