Do you think it's a good thing if police are given powers to knock them off? Or are you concerned where these powers could lead in the future..?

It’s a tough one for me and my liberal attitude, also I ride a motorcycle so I know how much it hurts when you fall off.

However even I cannot see another way to combat this type of crime. Also it appears the Police are well trained and it’s on camera.

I have very little sympathy for the criminal but if one dies I can only imagine the fuss their families will make and how the Police Officers maybe hung out to dry.

The Police sometimes ram cars that are being driven dangerously and refuse to stop! Rather a villain with total disregard for others gets hurt before he hurts an innocent person!

Too soft on criminals these days

This isnt the bible, we dont chop peoples hands off. We catch them and care for them and rehabilitate them, not wander the streets looking to knock them off their bikes. One injured person is enough.

When they steal the bike or snatch a phone handbag or spray someone with acid they lose their rights

And should have the full weight of the law on them

If you don’t respect others don’t expect it back

It's this sort of mentality that is letting or society go awry! It's giving the evil party's sympathy and patting them on the head and asking them to be good that is taking us int the wrong direction! Don't reward bad behaviour! Punish bad behaviour !

Technically they are in many aspects.

They are allowed to lock people up

They are allowed to puncture tyres

They are allowed to force entry

Of course, and it is the courts who issue punishment and or rehabilitation, not the police.

The problem is there is no predictability when knocking someone off a two wheel vehicle, the rider and/or passenger is moving, and continues moving even if you stop the bike dead

This means the theif could hit an object such as a lamppost, or into the path of oncoming traffic.

As horrible as these little shits are, is passing a death sentence without trial suitable punishment for theft?

And while you are hungry for justice, give a thought to the police officer who may spend the rest of his life seeing a 14 year old kid collide with an early grave at his hand every time he closes his eyes.

And for what? £20 and a Tesco loyalty card

The idea is good but when put in practice and the robbing scum are hurt. The officers concerned aren’t protected for doing their duty and are investigated and sent to court.

So these party's knock an elderly person to the ground for their £20 and loyalty card which could cause serious injury to them or cause their victim to fear ever going out doors again. Spraying acid into someone's face leaving them with a permanent disability! The prat is brought to court and is given five hours community service order or even a suspended six month prison service and he walks out of court grinding past the people who's life he has destroyed! Did he consider letting his victims have a fair hearing before attacking the! The large majority of these offenders go on the reoffend!they don't care!!

That is a reason to overhaul the courts, not to tell the police to just break their backs.

These moped drivers now know the score. If they carry on driving like idiots and commiting crimes then they get what's coming.

If the police are acting within their guidelines, then there should be no come back on the officers if the riders get injured.

It should be prime time live tv with a number of coppers in cars from different forces and a points based system.

The force with the most points that night gets extra funding.

Snatch thieves using mopeds dont have sympathy for their victims.

Several victims badly injured, some fatal due to head injury when they fell as those cruel thieves dragged their bags from the victims shoulders.

Some drove slowly by your car during red light and smash your window and snatch your belongings from your seats.

If in self defence you have to knock them down, i dont have sympathy for them. Just be careful because usually they have friends nearby too.

It's an acceptable use of force in order to apprehend a criminal.

I mean in a standard foot encounter what are the policies options for force?

50,000 volts of electricity

A couple of sprays of a chemical weapon banned in warfare.

Or beat fuck out of them with a metal stick.

Unless you have never dealt with an uncooperative human being in your life im not sure how you honestly think a police service can exist woth zero injuries

Unless of course it is a requirement for the safety of others.

Ie armed response shooting somone.

Or your local bobby using pain compliance
