What are the positives? If you're new here is it good to get recognized on the forums?

Not so much recognised but as moderately new to swing it’s good to get the general consensus sometimes

you’ll get noticed and people can pick up on your personality.

I have only recently started posting in the forums and have to say it's all been positive so far.

I was pretty much invisible for my first three years on Fab. If I hadn’t known people from another site and been bi-curious at the time I wouldn’t have had a meet. That changed when I started using the forum. I learned a huge amount about the lifestyle, got burned a few times through my naive actions and things that I posted or disclosed. I got to know quite a few people and in the main have really enjoyed my time on here. 5 and a half years on from my first post on the forum I can safely say the only reason I am still on Arab is because of the friendships as I have begun developing and interaction and educational entertainment I have gained by being on the forum.

Thanks a really good answer, I'll keep that in mind! I've only been on Fab a month and can say I've already been roasted on the forums for something I've said! I never saw it as a place to develop relationships with people, good to know!

Depends on what you're getting recognised for.

I'd say it's beneficial for the male profiles judging by what I've been told of their experiences. Don't think it really matters for women... We get messages whatever

I'd agree with this - it's a place where you can make yourself less two-dimensional and I don't think that's ever a bad thing

It's a great place to make friends and find people with similar personalities and interests. Sometimes takes a little time to feel like you're settled in but new personalities keep the forum interesting. Lots of us have met socially on the back of forum interaction and genuine friendships made. Have fun and don't take it too seriously

I always find the forums welcoming and intriguing - oh and a great place to strike up a conversation with some genuine members

Been here a good few years. Engaged in forums for some mental stimulation. Only ever met 2 ladies from forums in the 5 yrs, but met many who don't engage in forums but read them. Found them easier to chat too, maybe because they don't have the right filters or don't get hundreds of messages to filter either.

Only 1% of fabbers use forums which is good to remember when engaginh in them. They don't really represent a consensus of fab thinking in general but they are the more vocal and opinionated as a fab group so may come across as general thinking. They do tend to be more caught up with the forum baggage than non forumites and more touchie. Maybe have more time on their hands too.

The forum gene pool is limited so if you're looking for meets rather than people to chat to, I've found that there's more success to be had away from the forum. But then I'm quite specific about what I'm looking for. It really does depend what you want to gain from it and what you're looking for.

What happens on the forums will have no bearing on how you engage with people who don't use the forums.

We are in a little bubble on here.

If you're not careful you'll end up living in the bubble.

Forums are good but be careful what you’re posting, if your views are radical or just a different political persuasion it could put some people off you.

Over the weekend I’ve blocked, 4 people due to their posts, I won’t go into what they posted but I wouldn’t want to know them (one had been messaging me). But I doubt many will block if you comment that you didn’t like their all time favourite movie.

Forums is one of the reasons I bother. The interaction can be fun (likewise it can be a but horrid at times) but it gives you a chance to demonstrate your personality, your pictures and you get to know people

If you're after sex, no. If you're after an argument with people sat on the toilet, yes.

I enjoy the forums, also good to read other people’s opinions and find people on your wave length!

That would depend on what wavelength you're on. I think mine's a very rare wavelength

Once you don't insult people I find forums can be fun,

Nice to hear other opinions likes and dislike s

And also the naughtiness

On the contrary your wavelength is quite easy to find, lazy, Black loving sarcastic frequency flying high in the upper echelons of the fab universe!

My thoughts exactly, forum is chit chat. fun is better sought elsewhere

The forums are great fun and good for finding your feet on Fab but if it wasn’t for the forums I would never have met Holly!!
