I have no real interest in Dubai but I'd love to see New York.

To be fair 5 days is more than enough in Dubai. You’d need weeks to see New York properly

New York in February though - you might spend your whole time trudging through mounds of dirty snow and wearing everything you packed to stay warm.

It'll still be more interesting than Dubai though.

If you just want to relax in the sun, then Dubai. New York would be far more active, and cold.

Go New York as there's less chance of you being lashed and jailed for some ridiculous law such as referring to someone as a horse.

NY for me. I don't get the attraction of the Gulf States with their Medieval legal systems.

Your comparing two quite different city breaks. All depends what u are into and what u want from your trip. Do u want to sunbathe and chill out or do u want to explore a city ?

New York every time

Go in January and get ur butt round the sales

I had to buy an extra suitcase one of the times I went

I never really relaxed in Dubai - it was too hot for me (even in March) and I didn't feel like I could be myself out of the hotel

Miami?"

Miami is warmer but not roasting in Feb (mid to late 60's)

April is best for Miami imho - mid 70's and not as humid as other months

It was more that I was looking over my shoulder all the time

My friend got treated to an afternoon in police custody for taking photos of how low the planes were over his hotel

London on steroids?? New York is totally different to London

Dubai is great for the weather, but it has no soul, no real history and is very fake and the food isn’t great

You could boycott Dubai purely on humanitarian grounds, for the quite massive human rights abuses carried out towards the construction workers shipped in from the Asian sub-continent and treated like modern slaves

I've been to New York but I'd choose New York!! For several reasons. The most one being I'd starve in Dubai quite probably with me being vegan.
