"Attention seeking, look at me threads and when females post they then think it's open season to send us messages because we've posted on their thread. " Exactly this. I remember a guy about a year ago posted 4 threads in the space of a few days asking exactly the same thing. He was treated very kindly, given lots of good advice but all he did was give excuses as to why he couldn't take it. Ultimately all some people want to do is moan and get attention for it.

"Advice doesn't have to be taken or acted apon even if it's asked for. " Exactly this, maybe they asked for advice with good intentions, then thought "nah that advice was rubbish actually".

"Advice doesn't have to be taken or acted apon even if it's asked for. " true, but you wouldn’t ask in the first place unless you wanted to do something about it surely?

" one guy had “fill in later” as his profile text and had been on the site over a year with no meets, so in his case i think he should have taken and used the advice a fair few of us give him.

"Advice doesn't have to be taken or acted apon even if it's asked for. " Agreed, but pointless asking if you're going to ignore.

You think he should have taken the advice but he decided not to and that's entirely up to him. Why take umbrage at that?

It’s when they make the same forum post a few weeks later that bugs me

I have to say it does annoy me when people put " fill in later" but never actually write anything. A guy I have spoken to a few times since I joined the site has that as his write up. He's been on here nearly a year so he's no intention of changing it. I would say he's classed as more attractive than average si he's relying on his looks to get by. It's out me off. They might as Well just leave it blank than lie.

People's motives for posting aren't always clear. The threads started by women claiming low body confidence from a profile with many photos that imply the opposite for instance.

"I’d say just looking for some attention " That's probably a big part of it. It's one way to draw attention to your profile
