Back in the late 80's, I was told I strongly resembled the character of Harold Bishop of 'Neighbours' fame.

I didn't see it myself, but humoured everyone who said it especially a lot of the local students who drank in our pub which I was running then.

But it paid off one day near Xmas, when helping Door staff eject a troublemaker, the guy had mates there unknown to us & we got jumped on by about 15 blokes.

As I went down to the floor under a lot of punches and kicks, I heard above the din, "Harold's being attacked, save him!" and as I was told later, every student present piled in to help me & security.

Police arrived to find all the attackers in one bloody pile, but no-one "saw what happened!!"

Police knew full well, seeing the yobs were all known locally as 'trouble'. Every time from then on, the students all hummed the Neighbours theme tune every time they saw me.
