I just saw a bee probably the size of a tennis ball fly next to the window and it was one of the loudest ones I have ever heard too.... let's shut the window before the "thing" gets in.

It's not bees you usually need to worry about... they rarely sting.

In fact large bumble bees are often placid enough to rescue by hand. Apparently they like being stroked too

Very true. Everyone should stroke bumblebees, they need a bit of love too.(ex-beekeeper)

I haven’t noticed but the wasps I’ve seen have been hitting the steriods. Jeez. They’re horrible.

I adore bees though. I could happily watch them all day long. As for stroking a big fuzzy bumble - I’m totally gonna try!

I love bees. The bigger they get, the better. Hopefully in time, they’ll be bigger than humans

Are you sure it wasn't a drone OP? Do MI5 have an interest in you for some reason?

The big bumblebees at the moment are the queen bees looking for somewhere to build a nest.

The first ones of the year are always the biggest, they are the Queens searching for a new home, later in the year you will only see the smaller ones out and about

I think they've been genetically modified and they're some sort of robot drone spies

I'm sure Black Mirror had an episode about bees - I'm going to watch it again

I rescued a bumblebee once. Seemed very our of it. So he/she had some sugar water and I picked some flowers and could see it's little tongue. Was so cute. And I petted the bee. Very soft I must say. Bee was chillin on my finger enjoying the flowers and seemed happy. Then when bee started getting a bit more vibrant I popped be on a flower bush we had and said fair well. Bee then flew off 5 mins later.

Bees are very misunderstood, they do so much for this world.

Wasps are the assholes.

I read something about not spraying killer as it kills the bees, especially in early spring as there is not much food source for them other than s like dandelions

It's ok, the trees are blossoming, lots of food there for bees!

Had a fat bee flying around a couple of year ago, never seen anything like it. It kept banging into the windows.

It might have been a hornet. I trapped one at work a few years ago. It was mahoosive and unlike any I had seen before. I sent pics to the Natural History Museum and they said it was an Asian Hornet. Not unknown in the UK but new to my area...

The one I saw was definitely a fat bee.

I've seen hornets and they are nasty little fuckers.

Look after the bees

I wish I could get into bee keeping, really want to get my own honey so I can try making my own mead one day.

Absolutely love mead and my favourite has to be Lindisfarne mead some of the best I've tasted

Only tried mead once it was very nice.
