I have no idea, but I do know if the site has a mandatory paid membership and adds fake users, it has to declare it in T&S by law.

I hope not but I suspect they may well do the manipulation of numbers on line at the home page never rings true in my opinion so that adds to my suspicions.

If I owned the site I might do it depends if I wanted to generate maximum profit.

It could be done even bad publicity is publicity of sorts, showing the site as busier than it really is. This will automatically add profit to the site as some will take up some sort of supporter status.

It's an old saying from MSN chatroom days. An empty room will stay empty. Put 20 fake profiles in it and before you know it, you'll have 50 people chatting away. Those original 20 will go largely unnoticed.

That seems about right but then is that just stimulating people to enter or faking things its a grey area but as the current owners (not original ones) currently say its not compulsory to pay which is kind of them but there is always an ulterior motive for a business to do this it may be so they don't have to declare inner workings and accurate membership or if all are genuine or not.

Exactly, and using my original case, if you joined an almost empty site, you'd not consider paying a membership fee as there'd be no real benefit. Join a site with hundreds of thousands of "members"...colour me cynical.

The owners wouldn't have the time nor inclination to waste time making fake profiles - and it would do the site's reputation no good to do so - it's totally illogical to think they would.

They do however leave profiles on-site that haven't been used since they were created, just in case the scaredy-cat comes back to assume full use of the site - someday.

Sick of hearing about the obsession with 'fakes'.

Some folks create a profile when piss-palatic d*unk at 2am on a Sunday morning after crashing out of a nightclube with no 10-2 ride - they usually forget the email/password they used and the profile goes dormant when they log our/fall asleep.

Some folks [usually females] set up a profile and then get too shocked at the amount of crude/rude/abusive emails they receive from desperado mails who couldn't get laid in a Brothel.

Some folks find they are just one of a million other [single males] looking for something they couldn't find in their local pub/club/knocking shop. Most of the above go dormant too when they get advice about this place not being 'Dial-a-Ride' on the Whinging posts they put on the Forum after a week of being deleted from the copy-past mails they sent to every inbox on site.

Some folks do come back on new profiles, after they get over the initial shock.

There are filters to stop new profiles, non-verified profiles, and profiles of specific types from mailing you - use them - then the level of your irritation with 'fakes' will be minimised.

Use the Forums, get to know the folks using the profiles. The Chatrooms are great for doing due diligence - you can even go on cam and see for yourself that that 'too-good-to-be-true' 18year old who is 'seeking hard cock' in your area - is actually not a sad, keyboard wanker in a basement that hasn't seen a vacumm cleaner in a decade.

I won't start on the 'single male masquerading in a couple profile' or the 'male using a female profile' issue - there's just no accounting for some folks' thinking processes, if they think any of that is going to get them laid.

Maybe cynical but I would say more like accurate but then a business has to make profits you see all the big ones being creative with where they pay taxes if at all I see no reason why others wouldn't manipulate members numbers or have AI site profiles to encourage others in.

I always think its strange the site declares 32000 on line but strangely doesn't say if they are male/female/couple/tvts profiles.

Why?

If folks want to have a look-see - don't like what they see - and don't feck about messing others around - they're doing no harm

Anyone who stands up a genuine member, can be reported as a 'No-Show' and Admin will note the developing behaviour pattern.

You can hit the 'Block' button on any profile that doesn't interest you.

I think you have misinterpreted the theme of the thread its about site generated profiles I doubt they would arrange to meet and if they belong to the site then reporting wouldn't have any effect. Other sites definitely do it so its potentially possible here.

As for world wide there are more people in Manchester on here than the rest of the world just look at California one of the biggest states and there are less than 20. Maybe its multiple profiles for single people as claims are as exaggerated as cock sizes are on here.
