Newcastle and Gateshead

so anyway, whilst at club f last week we were discussing alcoholic drinks you started on before you graduated to "proper stuff" (yes... pointing at you "lambrini" drinkers!!)....

anyway.... I mentioned "thunderbird".... and it was a room splitter because some gave me that really knowing "oh my god yes" look.... and some people claiming they were far too young and not remembering it at all......

so.... two questions....

1) do they still sell it?

2) anyone have any idea if they do still sell it where on earth i would get it from?

I'd forgotten Thunderbird. I preferred Diamond White cider mixed with Lambrini. Can't remember what that "cocktail" was called.

Amazon do it, or various on line retailers, along with other tramp juice of a similar vintage such as MD20/20

I still drink snakebite and black when I go out! If they allow it.. Told a very young barman that refused that I was 103, and knew I could handle it, after all this time... He wasn't impressed

Oooooooooffttt I can’t remember a few nights when we were on the Thunderbird. It was potent. It when you only had £5 to your name and you wanted buckled that was your go to tipple. I also remember Eldorado which was also nuclear waste or something.

It was thunderbird blue for us, I havent seen thunderbird drink in a long time.

The other choice of drinks was either labrini or lambrusco, I prefered lambrusco it was sweater.

You can still buy md20/20 in local shops and lambrini.

Hiding in the shadows

Sherry

My parents had cupboards rammed full of the stuff.

Seemed to be family tradition that everyone bought a bottle with them when they visited at Christmas, but only ever drank 1 glass!

We'd end up with 10-15 bottles most years!

I still love sherry

Scunthorpe

I vividly remember sneaking 20/20 into clubs, as it came in flat bottles that fit in pockets and bags.

When we were tok young to get in clubs we would get a huge bottle of diamond white.

I still remember tipping pernod and black on white jeans

The joys of youth

Nita
