And by long I mean 1,127 words or 6,095 characters

I know it's probably rude not to answer but come on...

I always count the amount of characters in a message before I decide whether to read it or not

"A one word reply."

and one word is not hypocrisy (read between the line) but odd and even both exist, but to be honest So far not seen, except one

Depends on what it was. Some people can write really funny, long mails.

If it was some shite porn sex chat I just reply saying I didn't read it as I'm not into that.

Yup, the one before it was 356 words 1,732 characters, so I already saved it for the weekend to answer, but I don't want to spend my entire weekend answering 1 message

Skim, highlight relevant points and keep your response brief but informative so it doesn’t happen again?

Not if it was the first message.

If it was part of an intense conversation, of course

To answer your question OP...I read and answer every message I receive, regardless of length. However, my reply isn’t guaranteed to be equally lengthy.

I’be only had one really long message.

It was a porn story

I answered but it was only a thanks but no thanks

I do like an interesting or funny first message though, I don’t mind if they are lengthy.

I might but i would say just about every man would answer one from a woman if it was a first message on here and it included a full nude photo that was attractive.

Unlikely to read it all! I'd scan through and if there was anything of interest I might reply. But that smacks of high maintenance.

I hope it was in poem form!

I used to get a long ass message every morning from some guy. I never responded and it just fizzled out. I miss those poems...

Fucking annoys me when you are sitting there on WhatsApp or whatever and see the word ‘typing’ for what seems like half hour to be greeted with ‘ok’...what the actual fuck!

In answer to your question op, it would seriously have to open with a funny few paragraphs to get my attention to read until the end.

I think the worst thing about getting a really long message is having to reply in kind. I actually stopped talking to someone many years ago, because the idea of replying to every long winded message became quite stressful and time consuming

Was this a first message then. I would be uncomfortable reading such a long personal type message. I dont mind if it is a waffle type message.

Like a fifth or sixth message, and it went from like 4-5 regular to 300 word message to 1200 word message. And I was completely lost (plot wise) after receiving them.

It depends on if it had sufficient of a hook to capture my interest.

Not sure I would waste my time on a word count though...

Personally I read and reply to every message.

That is more to do with the frequency of messages and amount of time I have available to answer it.

I have replied to very long messages with a 'tldr' before which I feel slightly bad about but tell myself they are copied and pasted

It depends on the sender and the message. If it's a copy and paste of somr tripe, it's wasted effort.

The right sender, the message is read and replied to

In my experience long long messages are copy paste and nothing personal to me in them at all , I've assumed rightly or wrongly that they were sent out to a number of people , I always reply by asking if it's a copy and paste mass message but they always assure me it's not

Despite friends of mine receiving the same message lol
