Suspect it may well be a direct follow on from the final scene of the last series and the wall coming down with possibly Tormund and Eddison Tollett making a dramatic Raiders style escape

No it was Visarian attacking the wall but having just re-watched it I'm wrong anyway - the wall was down and the whitewalkers in their way through before the closing shot
