We have no choice.

Drink a glass of water, take a deep breath, and soldier on.

Some people need less sleep but in general it catches up on you I struggle with less than 6hrs a night but I know many who need even less.

Hiding in the shadows

I only sleep a maximum of 4hrs a night, always have.

I function perfectly well, rarely feel tired, I work several jobs all of which are physically demanding.

I've not been well recently, I slept 11hrs the other night, spent most of the day dozing on the settee, then a full 7hrs sleep the next night.

Only 2nd time in my life I've slept like that

I'm exactly the same, I only sleep longer than four hours if I'm ill. My mum used to joke that she's still waiting for me to sleep through the night.

I have no idea how people cope with such little sleep. I know I wouldn't, I'm a right moody bag if I have less than 8!!

Crawley

I'm up at half 4 for work, do 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off, so get about 3 hours sleep before the two day shifts, then crash out and catch up between the days and nights. Problem is I never get up early enough on my days off cos of coming off nights, so I don't sleep before that first day shift and the cycle begins again.

Live with it as when my body needs to and is feeling relaxex happy contented and my mind is allowed to be in a great place the sleep comes.

I sleep really badly, I can’t remember the last time I got to sleep before midnight, I know we don’t finish work until 11pm five nights a week but even on our days off, then I find myself sleeping until late, it’s a viscous circle.

Thursdays are the worst for me, I lay awake until about three, then instead of sleeping in I get up mega early (for me) work until 11, then I spend the rest of our working weekend from 7am to 11pm both days completely zombiefied.

Chams or Socials

I have obstructive sleep apnoea (not weight related) & used to stop breathing 116 times an hour. I was permanently exhausted for years. Since diagnosis & a cpap machine last year I am getting a good 8 hours minimum

Ideally I need about 8.5 to 9 hours. I know a woman who suffers so badly from insomnia due to anxiety that she's taken another early morning job just to pass the time. I couldn't do it.
