Well it’s been 6 weeks since last posted about all this stuff.

Not going to lie there is still some difficult and frustrating parts in the recovery I still have weakness and get frustrated am not 100% yet

Had a conversation with my physio guy who been great since discharged me in January. As he reminded me that sports people like footballers have intense physio from day 1. The Liverpool player chamberlain (think his name) had similar operation an lost 8 weeks muscle an took him 6 months to return to game and another 1-2 to play a full game even then still struggling till muscles build.

As every day loose a big % of muscle tissue. After my operation due to setbacks and issues I lost 4.5 months before I could engage with physio so I have roughly 85% muscle waste so even though looks normal the strength not there.

I have been trying do my physio but failed due to the intensity in work I do I get home broken but been tryin do squats again and need slowly regain control.

I see the consultant in few weeks I just wana be better an not still struggling with pain an having take meds. But I know it’s not a sprint also.

Hope everyone ok and thanks for reading if you do

I had a high tibial osteotomy basically reconstructed knee joint it’s an alternative to a replacement due to age

Thanks for that. I have been trying so hard guess I wanna get to end we’re no more pain meds an no discomfort after 10 months plus the 2 yrs before operation just sick of it now. But I know all that pre op pain impacts length of recovery and as said I lost months before rehab began.

Read a story on runners world last night guy had op in sept an he in a worse way although parts of his story was same like dvt an then living on sofa for 6 weeks lmao as his partner saying he damaged this sofa cos lived on it.

"I had a high tibial osteotomy basically reconstructed knee joint it’s an alternative to a replacement due to age"

It's more a postponement than a replacement?

Haha it ok knew what meant

It’s seen as a alternative to a total replacement due to age an stuff. If successful can mean may not need replacement in future, as my knee cap an joint else we’re was in good condition just my lower joint had been damaged.

But it doesn’t rule out needing replacement fully due to arthroscopic changes etc so fingers crossed but maybe when older will have more work done on it.

Main thing now is the long recovery road as after yr should be back were was when had operation then another 6 months should be 100% new and fit. Hence operation done to younger people cos impact time an strength. As a replacement recovery is quick 6-10 weeks

Sorry for my rambling
