Ooh controversial lol. Who cares what other people think? if you feel good and your confident to wear what you want and not fall into the ‘oh I shouldn’t wear that at my age, people might look and comment’ trap, then good on you. Why should we all look the same when we get older? Sod that lol!

Totally agree

I hate that "mutton dressed as lamb" statement. What it's actually saying is. "You aren't dressed as how I think you should." How arrogant?!

The day I start caring what other people think about what I'm wearing, which will be never, ta very much.

I wear what I'm comfortable in, and I'm not gonna be uncomfortable to fit in with someone's opinion, as quite frankly, if my clothing choices are more important to them than whether I'm a decent human being then they aren't the kind of person who's opinions interest me in the slightest.

What about lamb dressed as mutton. Is that a thing?

I do think that people should dress for their body shape. In general though I'm happy for anyone to wear what they want.

Isnt the expression more aimed at a 45+ year old slightly over weight woman rammed into a mini dress that once might have fitted 3 decades and 4 stone ago?

Something that arguably wasnt "style" back then but only looked good because of youth?

Yes, it probably is but there are plenty of young women who cram themselves into mini dresses too.

It also only ever seems to be said about women. How about the 55 year old men in skater shorts and baseball caps worn backwards?

Probbaly because male sheep arent used for mutton and its an expression aimed specificaly at women in a specific situation regarding thier dress?

I think those men are refered to as having a midlife crisis, something you never hear women being told theyre having

That raises an interesting point. Women are often advised to cover their upper arms after a certain age or keep their neck and chest covered because the skin shows signs of aging. I wonder why we find it desirable to conceal the fact that we're not 35?

You've got great pins and your pics look fab you're aware of it also. But would you prefer 78 year old Pearl in her bikini and denim shorts or a nice knee length burka ...jokes aside I follow an older lady that wears clothes more suited for a 21 year old does she care? Does she fook...does it provoke conversation and untoward comments of course it does, that's life I guess. We can make our own decisions and roll with the disdain or celebration of others.

"Style suits any age.

Isnt the expression more aimed at a 45+ year old slightly over weight woman rammed into a mini dress that once might have fitted 3 decades and 4 stone ago?

Something that arguably wasnt "style" back then but only looked good because of youth?

I think that's mutton dressed as mutton.

Mini skirts on pensioner skin can never be a good thing and everyone should be made to have the mantra... Just because it's made in my size doesn't mean I should buy and indeed wear it.

That raises an interesting point. Women are often advised to cover their upper arms after a certain age or keep their neck and chest covered because the skin shows signs of aging. I wonder why we find it desirable to conceal the fact that we're not 35?

I wonder how people with scars or burns feel about showing their skin to people. Maybe they warn them to look away."

I find it weird when random strangers stroke them tbh

And people find it desirable to conceal thier age as well as developed as we are we're still animals with a focus on mating

Yes, it probably is but there are plenty of young women who cram themselves into mini dresses too.

It also only ever seems to be said about women. How about the 55 year old men in skater shorts and baseball caps worn backwards?

Thats what i said it wasnt ever style.

Probbaly because male sheep arent used for mutton and its an expression aimed specificaly at women in a specific situation regarding thier dress?

I think those men are refered to as having a midlife crisis, something you never hear women being told theyre having

Trust me you do .

Usually when they're crammed into a mini dress or batting their eyelashes at a 25 year old

Never heard anyone say it in regards to a woman.

Do they also buy a sports car?

Quite often. They frequently get a blonde tint and drive about with the top down. I don't think of it as a crisis, I think of it as realisation that life needs to be lived.

We really need to get women into skin tight leathers and liter bikes for thier crisis

. If you never have Google "Suzi Quattro leather".

I like a guy in leathers, always have."

Well that was an exhausting 3 hours

I was deep in a noise making competition with somone on the train talking on the phone.

My snoring vs thier highly detailed concerns about arriving in london at 5 pm and just what this would do to tbe garden party plans.

I'm not sure if i won but i did make a scene when i accidentally headbutted the chair in front nodding off

Never to old. People dress what they like as long as they are happy.

My Nan used to tell me I am told to have red / blue crazy hair colours . I reminded her she has the traditional blue rinse in her late 80s

Fuck growing old enough that people think they've the right to tell me how to dress

I think you dress for the occasion, your taste, and what suits you. Unless you're at work or at a formal event, for the most part, rock on with your own crazy self, whatever that is.

At 46 I guess I could be considered mutton. But the mindset that comes with being goth means I couldn’t care less. If someone other than hubby finds me attractive, great. If it’s only hubbies cock I can raise, great.

Dress how you want, not how you “should”

I get told I'm too young for the clothes I wear. I don't give a toss.

Random strangers as in actual strangers who you don't know?

Has it made you any more accepting of them? I remember you've said you felt self conscious of them.

I regularly discuss makeup with a lady in her 80s. She thinks my vampy night time red is fantastic. One day I will nudge her towards gothy lipstick.

"Ooh controversial lol. Who cares what other people think? if you feel good and your confident to wear what you want and not fall into the ‘oh I shouldn’t wear that at my age, people might look and comment’ trap, then good on you. Why should we all look the same when we get older? Sod that lol! "

Maybe they assume they're battle scars and think you're a bad boy.
