Yeah read that the other day.

Only his skull and trousers found.

However the park manager sent condolences to the family !!

Got what he deserved in my humble opinion.

Good on the wildlife for fighting back.

Now if they could target the American trophy hunters too, that'd be even better.

just the first time of the story isn't one you'd hear often

"A suspected rhino poacher has been trampled on by an elephant then eaten by a pride of lions in Kruger National Park, South Africa"

and the sound of "batman" effects just ring in my head as i read it.....

also, i think we have learnt that "trousers" are the lion equivilant and eating around the Brocoli on a plate....

London

I'm 100% against poaching, but celebrating this man's death seems pretty unpleasant. He wasn't a US tourist just killing animals for a laugh. It's a bit more complicated than "poacher = bad person".

Those lions...they'll eat any old shit.

Ought to have left him for the vultures and hyenas instead. They're the savannah dumpsters.

Once saw anti poaching programme, they had a rhino poacher and an injured mother rhino in a double pen.. Note the double part.... They questioned him and all the time this rhino is going mental.. Anyways they dragged him to gate into pen abd threw him in.. Well he didn t know it was double.. Frightened the sweet bejesus outta him as the rhino could get its head over the dividing fence but not quite reach him if he stayed flat against outer wall..

Whilst I can see where you're coming from and it's true that the poacher is right at the bottom of the food chain (sic) when it comes to the poaching "industry", and probably driven to it out of poverty etc, it's still an illegal activity that is abhorrent.

I don't think people are celebrating the man's death as such, more the irony of how it happened in a black humour kind of way, and you have to admit when looking at it from that perspective it is kind of funny, despite the tragedy of both the death and the impact it will have on his family, and the deaths of the animals he and his like have killed to sate the greed of those that trade, and profit from rhino horn.
