Dolmio, mince and spaghetti?

At 52 you really should know how to cook pretty much anything, but you may have lived a pampered life lol

Mind you, most men couldn't toast an egg or boil slices of bread so you are already a step ahead of them

Btw this is the Man of the couple, who self learned how to cook most things in his late teens

psst... get two jars of Dolmio lasagne sauce, one white, one dark. a pack of lasagne sheets. Layer them. Grate some cheese on the top. Job done.

View you could alternatively use a tub of creme fresh seasoned and loosened down with some milk for your white sauce, season with the usual salt pepper, add a couple of chopped anchovies, grated parmesan. whatever you like really.

Tear some lovely fresh mozzarella cheese and fresh basil over the top as well.

"Its not cheese sauce though...Its white sauce..."

Technically a White Sauce is known as a 'Rue'

Btw If you want a lazy way of making a Cheese sauce put half a pint of milk in a pan, and when its close to boiling 'slowly' add some premixed cornflower and water to thicken it. When It's as thick as you want, just throw in your preferred grated cheese and a little salt.

It's really hard to fuck up to, as if It's too thin add more cornflower mix, and If it's too thick add some more milk.

I've learnt something new tonight, I was always under the impression that the 'roux' is the base for the sauce and not the name of the sauce itself...

I should have taken more notice at school cookery class.

Jane,

Roux IS the flour and fat mixture, it can be used to thicken many sauces, including gravies. xx

Then it's as I thought.....must have taken more notice of my cookery teacher than I realised!
