Keep calm, you'll be fine, but have a think about what may be causing anxiety or look at what you're eating. Also, do you get excess stomach acid?" I have had reflux for many years, but it only occasionally surfaces. Could that be an issue?? | |||

I'm stumped , but I will look into it " Ok so not anxiety but when you get rapid heartbeats it can feel very odd indeed, heart in mouth, adrenaline rush etc. I get heart races from time to time but once I cut out most caffeine from my diet and reduced sugar intake it improved. I got advice from a friend to meditate once or twice a day for 20 minutes, the subject of meditation is not hugely important but sitting supported, warm and comfortable for twenty mins just focusing on my breathing and feeling calm was the BEST ADVICE EVER, see how it's all in caps? If you do all that and it still happens then it's likely a mechanical and signal issue and I'd suggest pestering your doc again. | |||

It was so bad the other day they made me jump in the air . Even after months of blood tests , ecgs , and tests , nobody can find anything wrong . I'm at my wits end now . I try to avoid foods that will increase my reflux and acid stomach. | |||

But I cant think of any hot drinks without caffiene or too much sugar that I'd actually like ??" I switched to decaf tea and now have caffeine sweats or rushes when I drink normal tea. I've recently switched to half spoon sugar but I'm not sure how it's affecting me yet. If I have sugar before bed I can't sleep and my heart rate increases. | |||

I always lay there for a few minutes and have a stretch and then get up . I never ever get straight up , I know it's not good for you | |||

"I've been suffering palpitations for almost 20 years now and went through all the panic and anxiety that they bring. Been to doctors, had ECGs, blood tests, 24 hour monitor and an ultrasound on my heart. Despite being assured there's nothing to worry about it can be hard at times when you get that bump. Through loads of research I have come to learn that apparently the majority of the population get many palpitations or skipped beats a day but they just don't notice them. They are very common and rarely a cause for concern. I've read that unless you have structural damage to your heart, then they are no more significant than hiccups. When you think about what hiccups are, they're a minor abnormality in your breathing rhythm that causes no harm whatsoever. A palpitation is basically the same, a minor abnormality in your heart rhythm that causes no harm. I still get a few a day but have found that taking magnesium supplements has help reduce the frequency big time. I've come to accept that they will be part of my life and most of the time I'm good with them but occasionally I get that one that shakes me. Hope this helps.
